You know what struck me first about this place? The name is absolutely terrible – like, whoever came up with “Amazing View, Natural View, 3′ To Hoan Kiem Lake, Free Wifi, Netflix, 2 Beds, 1 Toilet-2 Showers” clearly just threw every selling point into a blender. But honestly, once you get past that eyesore of a title, this little spot on Hàng Tre Street is actually a gem that punches way above its weight.

I mean, when they say three minutes to Hoan Kiem Lake, they’re not kidding around. You can literally roll out of bed, grab a coffee from one of those tiny street-side vendors (the old lady with the plastic stools makes the best cà phê sữa đá), and be watching the morning tai chi crowd around the lake before you’re fully awake. The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of the Old Quarter without dealing with the absolute chaos of the main tourist drags. Hàng Tre is one of those streets that feels authentically Hanoi – you’ll hear motorbikes puttering by at all hours, but it’s not the insane honking symphony you get closer to Hàng Bạc or Hàng Gai.

The setup inside is pretty clever, actually. Two showers might sound weird until you realize how practical it is when you’re sweaty from walking around in Hanoi’s humidity – and trust me, you will be sweaty. The beds are solid (I’m picky about mattresses), and having Netflix is surprisingly nice for those evenings when you’ve overdosed on street food and just want to collapse. The wifi actually works, which isn’t always a given in the Old Quarter where some buildings seem to exist in their own little internet dead zones. What really got me though was waking up and seeing actual glimpses of the lake through the maze of buildings – it’s not some panoramic view or anything, but there’s something magical about catching that early morning light hitting the water while you’re still in your pajamas. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you factor in the location and the fact that everything just… works. You know how some places look great in photos but then the shower has no pressure and the AC sounds like a dying helicopter? Not here. It’s one of those rare finds where the practical stuff is handled so well you barely notice it, which means you can focus on actually enjoying Hanoi instead of dealing with accommodation headaches. Plus, and this might sound silly, but being able to say you’re staying on Hàng Tre gives you a bit of local credibility – it’s not where the tour groups dump everyone, so you feel like you’re getting a more authentic slice of the city.

  Perfect central location, you can hear the traffic from the one bed, but the provided ear plugs worked and I slept really well.

  Wonderful apartment! Not just empty walls, but a place that feels like a lived-in home made with love. The host is amazing! Towel changes upon request, trash disposal, and lots of unexpectedly nice touches for an apartment — like tasty cookies and a bottle of water on arrival. It feels like staying in a quality hotel. And everything in the city center is just around the corner.

  The p lace was spotless, and the beds were very comfortable. Everything you could need was there. On a busy, noisy street but Lan left esr plugs and was so lovely and helpful. We slept great. Very central. I would highly recommend this place.

  What a great place! Modern, yet stil traditional decorated luxury appartment, exceptionally clean! Very nice looking on an absolutely top location! , just around the corner from the busy area with the shops and restaurants. It feels very cosy and has all necesseties (2 luxury bathrooms, fridge, cooking gear and two large fine beds) The host was very kind and helped us to recover the lost toy from our son!

  This is such a great location and lovely accommodation very mordern with lovely little touches to make it seem like home from home.Flowers fruit toothbrushes etc.
  The host Lan was so helpful when my plane was delayed she organised a car for me.Nothing was too much trouble.I liked it so much we are returning before we fly home!Thank you so much Lan and team you took all the stress away!
