Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels around Tay Ho, and Luxe Paradise Suites on Xuân Diệu really surprised me in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, this is going to work out”? That’s exactly what happened here. The lobby isn’t trying too hard to impress – it’s just clean, modern, and honestly feels more like a boutique property than your typical four-star spot.

What really got me was the location, though. I mean, Xuân Diệu is basically the expat heartland of Hanoi, so you’re literally walking distance from some of the city’s best Western restaurants and that whole lakeside vibe that makes Tay Ho special. The morning I checked out, I grabbed coffee at one of those little cafes right across the street and watched the lake come alive – vendors setting up, joggers doing their thing around Hồ Tây. You can’t really put a price on being able to roll out of bed and be part of that scene in five minutes. The staff actually gave me solid recommendations too, not just the tourist traps – they pointed me toward this tiny bún chả place about ten minutes away that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The rooms themselves are spacious, which honestly shocked me because space is usually at such a premium in Hanoi. I had a suite (hence the name, I guess) and the living area was big enough that I could spread out my laptop and work without feeling cramped. The bed was actually comfortable – you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be in Vietnam – and the bathroom had decent water pressure, which is more important than people realize until they don’t have it. One small thing that impressed me: the soundproofing was surprisingly good. Xuân Diệu can get pretty lively, especially on weekends when everyone’s heading to the lake bars, but I slept through it all. The AC worked properly too, no weird rattling or inconsistent temperatures that make you wake up either freezing or sweating.

What really sealed the deal for me was how easy everything felt. Check-in was smooth, the elevator worked (again, more important than it sounds), and when I needed to extend my stay by a day, they sorted it out without any drama. The cleaning staff did their job well – I mean, it’s not like they’re doing anything revolutionary, but everything felt fresh each day. There’s also decent WiFi throughout, which matters if you’re trying to get work done or upload photos without wanting to throw your phone across the room.

Honestly, for what you’re paying – and considering that 8.9 rating isn’t just inflated nonsense – this place delivers on being a solid home base in one of Hanoi’s most livable neighborhoods. You’re not going to get those Instagram-worthy infinity pools or marble everything, but you’ll get a genuinely comfortable stay in a spot where you can actually experience how locals and long-term expats live in this city. Sometimes that’s worth way more than flashy amenities.

  Amazing apartment in a cool neighboorhood. Two bedrooms, equipped kitchen and a balcony with a nice view of the lake. The location is superb – cool restaurants, supermarket, mall, bars… this is actually better than the busy Old Quarter. I wish I could have stayed more!

  The apartment was beautiful. Just as you see it in the picture. From the balcony, you get a beautiful view of the lake. Every facilities are there in the property. You can cook your own food if you want. The cleaning lady comes in the morning and a thorough job. Tom was very gracious and helpful throughout. Our stay at the property was very convenient and happy. Made our Vietnam experience even more beautiful. A huge thanks from 🇮🇳.
