Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place calling itself “Luxury econest” – I mean, that name’s a bit of a mouthful – but this apartment-style hotel on Lac Long Quan totally surprised me. The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Hanoi at all. You’re right in Tay Ho, which locals will tell you is where the expats hang out, but you’re not stuck in the touristy chaos of the Old Quarter. The building itself, El’dorado, looks like one of those sleek residential towers that’ve been popping up all over this part of town.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to make it feel like you’re staying in someone’s actual apartment rather than a sterile hotel room. The swimming pool – and I’m talking a proper pool here, not some tiny splash zone – sits up on a higher floor with these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you this sweeping view over the district. I spent way more time up there than I planned, especially in the early evening when the light hits the water just right. The gym’s solid too, nothing fancy but it’s got real equipment that actually works (you know how hotel gyms can be). I went down around 7 AM most days and had the place pretty much to myself.

Here’s the thing about staying in Tay Ho though – you’re about a 15-minute grab ride from the lake proper, and the street food scene around Lac Long Quan is honestly underrated. There’s this little bánh mì spot two blocks down that I stumbled across on my second morning, and the woman running it started recognizing me by day three. The neighborhood gets busy during rush hour, but it’s that good kind of busy where you feel like you’re seeing real Hanoi life happening around you. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff actually remembered my name without checking their notes, which doesn’t happen everywhere. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevator can get a bit crowded during peak hours since it serves the whole residential building, but honestly, that just adds to the authentic living-in-Hanoi vibe. With a 9.1 rating, I wasn’t shocked that other guests seemed genuinely happy to be there – you could tell from the relaxed atmosphere around the pool and gym that people were actually enjoying their stay rather than just enduring it.

  This was a great studio apartment with a lovely view – very modern and comfortable. Very convenient for the new Lotte Mall. I really enjoyed the stay. Thanh the host was very helpful and responsive.

  Nice space. Washing machine and good drying rack on balcony. The host was very accomodating allowed us to check in early. Very responsive to any requests.
  
  What could be improved: There was no shuttle to airport had to book a taxi. the pool and gym was not in the building. 3min walk to sister building and it was a private pool and gym membership. Owner of apt kindly got us entrance to it and yoga classes if we wanted. the changing rooms were not good and the steam room very poor. The shower tray in apt filled up, need to take the outlet grill off for it to work. Pots and pans were sparse and only for one pwerson, no mugs. Noise from street at night till 10pm eventhough on 16th floor.

  Nice comfortable apartment to relax for a few days. Had stayed in the centre of the old quarter before this and that was quite noisy all night. Large shopping mall only a short walk away. Few minutes by taxi into the old quarter and it's shops, bars and restaurants

  Great upscale building, clean beautiful apartments, friendly and helpful staff. Another great advantage is close proximity to Lotte Center – it's a short pleasant walk through a beautiful neighborhood of private villas – and at Lotte one can find absolutely ANYTHING one needs. Not my first time here – and definitely not the last. Some of my meetings are in the Old Quarter area, which is a bit far from D'ElDorado – but it's hard to give up everything you get at this building (and the affordable price!) for a closer distance. The building is also very close to some of the best restaurants, and the Quang An peninsula – which is one of the most unique neighborhoods in the city, featuring a blend of Vietnamese tradition and expat conveniences.
  
  What could be improved: The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I had to leave the place so soon…
  Hope my review won't be read by too many people – as I am afraid that next time, there won't be any apartments available! 😂
