Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to the D’ Eldorado building on Lac Long Quan – it’s this sleek residential tower that you might drive past without thinking twice. But man, once you get up to the Muse Hanoi Lake View apartment, it’s a completely different story. The views hit you immediately, and I mean, West Lake spreads out right in front of you like this massive mirror reflecting whatever mood Hanoi’s in that day. You’re high enough up that the usual street chaos below becomes this distant hum rather than the full-on sensory assault you get at ground level.

What really sold me on this place is how it actually feels like living in Hanoi rather than just visiting it. The Tay Ho district has this interesting mix – you’ve got expat families doing their morning jogs around the lake, Vietnamese locals heading to work on their motorbikes, and these little coffee shops that somehow manage to serve both perfect pho and decent cappuccinos. The apartment itself is properly spacious (not like those cramped hotel rooms in the Old Quarter where you’re basically sleeping on top of your suitcase), and the kitchen actually works if you want to grab some fresh ingredients from the morning market on Xuan Dieu. I spent way too many evenings just sitting on that balcony with a beer from the convenience store downstairs, watching the sunset paint the lake different shades of gold and pink.

The building’s pretty well-maintained – you know how some of these newer developments in Vietnam can be hit or miss with the elevators and air conditioning, but everything here runs smoothly. Parking’s not a nightmare either, which is honestly a minor miracle in Hanoi. The only thing I’d mention is that weekend evenings can get a bit lively since there are quite a few restaurants and bars within walking distance, but it’s not the kind of noise that keeps you up unless you’re a really light sleeper. What I really appreciated was how the staff actually remembered my name after the first day – it’s those small touches that make you feel less like tourist number 47 and more like you belong there. Plus, you’re about a 15-minute grab ride from the Old Quarter when you want to dive into the full Hanoi experience, but you can retreat back to this peaceful lakeside bubble when you need to decompress. It’s sort of the best of both worlds, really.

  Really liked the accommodation. Location was perfect for exploring the WestLake,which is a really nice part of Hanoi.

  The apartment was exceptionally clean 👌 with everything that we needed.
  
  The view from the balcony and main bedroom was great.
  
  Access to the property was easy and straightforward, with brilliant communication & clear instructions from the owner.
  
  The owner even organised a airport 🛫 pick up (cash to the driver) which was flawless and made our arrival into Hanoi extremely relaxing 😎
  
  Lastly the apartment was central to food, coffee ☕️ & convenience stores.
  
  Overall a very good experience.
  
  What could be improved: Our friends in the second bedroom suggested a bed topper just to soften the mattress a little, but indicated they still slept 😴 ok.

  We liked this accommodation so much that we booked in for a further three nights on returning from Ha Long Bay! We were in a different room from last time but were very happy that it was just as good as the last one we stayed in at this location. They also helped us with booking tickets to the water puppet theatre which was a great experience.

  Highly recommend! This accommodation was excellent and the staff were the most helpful we have had on our trip so far. They had great communication and helped us with every question and request we had. They even helped us with booking a Ha Long Bay cruise which was fantastic.

  The location is relatively close to the airport. It's 20 to 25 minutes drive which is why we booked it.
  
  I booked the same day and they managed to prepare it and make everything ready. We liked the view of the lake and the decour of the apartment.
  
  It feels like somebody's living space, and you can see imperfections from long term use so don't expect hotel-like space.
  
  What could be improved: This is more of an AirBnB style apartment, not like a serviced apartment property with its dedicated staff. We expected a smoother check-in process but the process wasn't smooth. We had to pay 3% for card payment and left 500,000 VND deposit. We got the deposit back though
  
  The AirBnB style also means you get a key to the elevator but no key to the apartment door. Rather, you use a password that you enter on the doorknob (but it was modern).

  What could be improved: Hard to find entrance to the building – it was around the back, not in the front.. the address is not in Google maps, Google sends you 100 meters to the north.

  Also, the agent who was there to meet me was more than 20 minutes late. Once I found the lobby I had to sit there for a while before the agent finally showed up.
