The staff here genuinely seem to know the neighborhood, not just the tourist script. What really sold me on the place was how quiet it gets at night. Duy Tan can be busy during the day with office workers and students (there’s a university nearby), but once evening hits, the alley settles into this peaceful rhythm. I could actually hear birds in the morning instead of just honking, which felt like a small miracle in Hanoi. The 8.5 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in the city, but everything works properly and the location gives you this perfect balance. You’re close enough to grab a taxi to Hoan Kiem Lake in about 15 minutes, but far enough out that you’re not paying Old Quarter prices for everything. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the whole Dich Vong area has these great little coffee shops where you can sit and watch normal Hanoi life happen – office workers on lunch breaks, students cramming for exams, grandparents walking grandkids to school. It’s that authentic slice of the city that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like you’re just… living somewhere for a while.

  What could be improved: Construction noise until 10 pm and at 6 am in the morning. If you need to wake up earlier tomorrow, i recommend you to stay here, like this you cant stay too much in bed !
  They didnt tell us nothing about that. They make me change of hotel, i had to accept because i really needed a place to stay. They just dont care, just for money i think, even if its not their fault about the constructions noise. But its not my fault either !
  I tought about cookint because they had a kitchen. I ask them if everything's was ok. Obviously the kitchen work but … no frypan, plates… just nothing ! So no cooking.
