Peridot Grand Luxury Boutique Hotel Overview
You know how sometimes you walk into a hotel lobby and immediately think “okay, this is going to be good”? That’s exactly what happened when I first stepped into the Peridot Grand on Đường Thành. I mean, the location alone – you’re literally steps from Hoan Kiem Lake, but tucked away on this quieter street that most tourists miss. The building itself has this gorgeous French colonial facade that somehow manages to feel both grand and intimate at the same time.
What really got me though was how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between luxury and actually feeling like home. The rooms are spacious by Hanoi standards (and honestly, by any standards), with these beautiful hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with natural light. The bathrooms are particularly impressive – marble everything, but not in that cold, sterile way some fancy hotels do. Actually, the whole place has this warm, lived-in elegance that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too – I had questions about getting to some of the more hidden temples in the Old Quarter, and the concierge didn’t just hand me a tourist map, he drew out actual shortcuts and told me which alleys to avoid during rush hour.
Here’s what I really appreciate about staying here: you can walk to everything that matters in about ten minutes, but when you come back at night, you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. The street gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so you’ll actually sleep well – which, if you’ve ever tried to get rest near the weekend market area, you know is kind of a miracle. The rooftop restaurant has this killer view of the lake, and while it’s definitely pricier than eating street food (obviously), the Vietnamese fusion menu is actually creative rather than just Instagram-pretty. Plus, they know how to make a proper coffee – and I don’t mean the tourist version, I mean the real deal that’ll make you understand why Vietnamese coffee culture is so serious. The only minor thing is that the elevator can be a bit slow during busy periods, but honestly, with everything else this place gets right, it’s barely worth mentioning. If you’re looking for somewhere that feels special without being stuffy, and you want to be right in the heart of things without sacrificing peace and quiet, this is your spot.

Absolutely beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Hanoi. The service is impeccable and the staff is always willing to help. Julie checked us in and she was so sweet and kind. Throughout our 5-night stay, she always made us feel so welcome and helped with all of our needs. The breakfast buffet is great with a wide selection of items. The rooftop bar is nice along with the swimming pool. And, I cannot say enough about the spa. We had a couples massage and it was FANTASTIC!
What could be improved: They charge for early check in. My husband and I have traveled a lot and we've never experienced that. I was very disappointed to have to pay for that service. Lastly, during check out, they give you a satisfaction form to fill out. It's a bit uncomfortable to fill out the form while they are looking at you. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.Adrian from Australia – 4 June 2025 (10/10)
Hotel and room were very well appointed. Breakfast was also great. Could not fault it.

I stayed here for 6 nights and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. After a long flight, check-in was smooth and welcoming, and every day after that continued to impress. A special shoutout to Julie at the reception—she helped me with check-out this morning, and it was seamless. I was in a bit of a rush to catch my next flight, and she made the process quick and stress-free.
One of the highlights of my stay was definitely the breakfast. I really wanted to try local street food but have a sensitive stomach, so I couldn’t take the risk outside. Thankfully, the hotel offered a wide selection of Vietnamese specialties that gave me the chance to enjoy the flavors of Vietnam in a clean and comfortable setting.
Lastly, a big thank you to the staff who cleaned my room. She is amazing!
Thanks so much for a great stay—I’ll definitely be back!
What could be improved: The bathroom definitely needs an update. I had trouble using the shower on multiple occasions—even with the instructions on the wall, the older fixtures and confusing handles made it a bit frustrating. It took some trial and error each time, and a refresh would go a long way toward improving the guest experience.
The staff were generally attentive and polite, which I appreciated. However, during breakfast (which was included in our room rate), there were a few moments of disorganization. On more than one occasion, we had to ask up to four different staff members just to get an iced Americano. It seemed like a simple request, but the delay was noticeable.
That said, the hotel’s historic charm and central location are definite highlights, and I hope with a few updates, it can offer an even better experience for future guests.Steven from Australia – 4 June 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional breakfast
Location was good and set back off the noisy activities on all Hanoi streetsNicole from Australia – 2 June 2025 (10/10)
Our stay at Peridot Grand started with a very warm welcome by the staff, specifically Julie, who had been nothing short of a super star the whole stay. We had a problem with our room initially and Julie was quick to sort it out, and from that moment on we knew we were in good hands. We were even treated to
complimentary massages which were very nice. The breakfast was great, lots of options.
All in all we had a great experience, and it wouldn' have been the same without Julie 🙂 we would definitely stay here again

Peridot Hotel, Hoi An – A Truly Excellent Stay
Our stay at Peridot Hotel in Hoi An was virtually perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with exceptional hospitality. The staff is truly outstanding — attentive, warm, and always ready to help with genuine kindness.
The hotel is impeccably clean, and the rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and very comfortable. Every detail reflects great care and quality.
Breakfast was a highlight — diverse, fresh, and beautifully presented. On our last evening, we had dinner at the rooftop restaurant, and the food was excellent: thoughtfully prepared, flavorful, and elegantly served.
We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel. It offers top-tier service and comfort at every level. Without a doubt, it is a place of excellence and absolutely worth staying at during your time in Hoi An.
What could be improved: The only aspect that bothered me during my stay was the early morning noise in the hallway. Around 6:00 to 6:30 a.m., hotel staff could be heard walking by, using their radios and sometimes talking to each other. As I’m a very light sleeper, this disrupted my rest. I believe a bit more discretion during these early hours would greatly improve the guest experience.Sarah from Australia – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful property in a great location. Beautiful decor, lovely pool and good breakfast.
