REY Hotel Hanoi Overview
You know what caught me off guard about REY Hotel Hanoi? The location is absolutely perfect, but not in the way most hotels advertise it. I mean, you’re literally on Lý Nam Đế street, which honestly sounds fancy but it’s actually this narrow little road that somehow puts you right in the sweet spot of Hoan Kiem district. Walk two minutes and you’re at the lake where all the locals do their morning tai chi – I’m talking 6 AM, mist rising off the water, the whole cinematic experience. But here’s the thing that really matters: you can stumble back from the night markets without getting lost in Hanoi’s maze of streets, which, trust me, is a bigger deal than it sounds.
The hotel itself feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need instead of just checking boxes. The rooms are clean and well-designed – not huge, but this is Hanoi’s Old Quarter area, so you’re not expecting a sprawling suite anyway. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central. Vietnamese cities can be… intense with the motorbike symphony, but somehow REY manages to buffer most of that noise. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood too, which makes a difference when you’re trying to find that pho place everyone raves about (it’s probably Pho Gia Truyen, and yes, they’ll give you proper directions). Check-in was smooth, and they actually store your luggage properly if you arrive early – seems basic, but you’d be surprised how many places just point to a corner.
Honestly, what sets this place apart is that it doesn’t try too hard. It’s a solid 4-star that delivers on being a 4-star, if that makes sense. The breakfast is decent Vietnamese and international options, the Wi-Fi actually works in your room, and the location means you can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake for sunset, then wander through the weekend night market, then grab late-night street food on Ta Hien (the famous beer corner) without needing to figure out taxis. I stayed here during both busy season and a quieter month, and the service stayed consistent – that’s rarer than you’d think. The only minor thing is that the elevator can be slow when it’s full, but honestly, that’s me being picky. For the price point and that location, REY Hotel just works. It’s the kind of place where you spend your time exploring Hanoi instead of dealing with hotel hassles, which is exactly what you want.

Reviews of REY Hotel Hanoi
Faris from Maldives – 6 June 2025 (10/10)
The moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Ngoc. She is incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Everything we asked for, she took care of within minutes. She was always available throughout our stay. Ms. Ngoc is truly a gem. We will definitely come back soon. Thank you!
What could be improved: The only thing we didn’t enjoy was the breakfast buffet. Almost everything was served with pork, and since we don’t eat pork, we couldn’t fully enjoy the meal.Quoc from Vietnam – 19 May 2025 (10/10)
Good location. Great staff especially David

Fantastic hotel and great value for money. The hotel was very modern and clean. The best was the staff who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Especially Ngoc at reception who helped me out even though it was really busy. I only stayed for one night but I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to Hanoi 10/10.

What could be improved: The coffee shop lacked basic pastry and viennoiseriesRendy from Indonesia – 4 February 2025 (10/10)
The room is nice, clean, and cozy. The staff are very friendly, with great customer service, especially bao linh, he is very helpful during our check out.
What could be improved: Facilities are limited, such as no room service, no indoor pool, gym, etc.Alexander from Netherlands – 31 January 2025 (8/10)
The room was pretty quiet for us. The hotel seems still new.
What could be improved: The shower drain didn't work too well and it would quickly turn into a bath when taking a shower. I would not expect this for a hotel like this.
The TV channels also didn't work too well, a lot of stuttering and hanging when trying to watch something. The television was basically unusable.Gia from Australia – 24 January 2025 (10/10)
Very convenient and safe location, the room was very cozy.

The cleanliness of the room, very well lit, very soft pillows and bed. Walls were not thin, walkable distance to food places. Worth evrry dollar!
What could be improved: Nothing much really.Akanksha from Singapore – 12 July 2024 (9/10)
Great location and cleanliness
What could be improved: The music plays on a loop and can become repetitive – please change it. Also, staff can have a bit more training to avoid miscommunication about inclusions and exclusions
