Hanoi E Central Luxury Hotel & Restaurant Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and honestly? The Hanoi E Central on Lo Su Street is one of those places that just gets it right. You know what I mean – it’s not trying too hard, but everything feels intentional. The moment you walk in, there’s this sense of calm that’s pretty remarkable considering you’re literally in the heart of the chaos that is Hoan Kiem District.
The thing about Lo Su Street is that it’s perfectly positioned – you’re close enough to hear the gentle hum of the weekend night market setting up, but far enough from the main tourist drags that you won’t have motorbikes revving outside your window at 6 AM (well, not as many anyway). I actually loved how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about getting to the Temple of Literature without dealing with the usual tourist traps, the front desk guy drew me this little map showing side streets I never would’ve found on my own. That kind of local knowledge is worth its weight in gold.
The rooms themselves have this boutique feel – not overly fancy, but thoughtfully designed with these lovely Vietnamese touches that don’t feel forced or touristy. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how rare that is in this price range), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, which after a long day of navigating Hanoi’s streets is basically heaven. I mean, the air conditioning works quietly too, which is crucial during those humid summer months when the city feels like it’s wrapped in a wet blanket.
What really won me over was the restaurant downstairs. I’ll be honest – I usually avoid hotel restaurants like the plague, but this one serves some genuinely excellent Vietnamese food alongside international options that don’t taste like they came from a manual. The pho bo they make in the mornings is legitimately good, and I saw plenty of locals eating there, which is always a promising sign. Plus, the staff there seemed to take real pride in explaining dishes and making recommendations based on what you actually like, not just pushing the most expensive items.
The whole experience felt refreshingly authentic for a 4-star place. You’re not getting marble lobbies or doormen in white gloves, but you are getting thoughtful service, a genuinely convenient location (seriously, you can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about three minutes), and that intangible feeling that the people running the place actually care about your experience. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place where all the little details add up to something that feels much more expensive than it is.

Will 1000% be staying here again / recommending. Was only 1 night, but left such an impression – and set the bar so high for the rest of my trip in Vietnam. Rosie & team were so so helpful – it really blew my mind…
She personally reached out on WhatsApp, organised a taxi for me from the airport, personally greeted me… and spent time chatting to me! The team couldn’t do enough to help! 🙂
The room was WONDERFUL and in a great location. The breakfast also delicious.
Thanks so much for the warmest of welcomes to Vietnam 💛Natalie from Australia – 1 June 2025 (10/10)

Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. They even upgraded us to a deluxe room we were in the top 7th floor and you could not hear noise from the city
What could be improved: Nothing really. Good value for money. It didn’t affected us but note that it doesn’t have a lift to go to the lobby, you have to go up one floor with stepsErana from New Zealand – 31 May 2025 (10/10)
Our room was 6th Floor and the room was perfect we were greeted with flowers on our californian king sized bed.
The aircon was already set so our room was nice and cool, this was perfect as it was so hot outside.
The amenities were great and the decor was very luxurious.
Staff were tentative on our late arrival and took our bags to our room supplied water, tea and coffee.
Buffet breakfast was available with a A La Carte menu available and cooked very quick…
Rosie was so nice to talk to and checked into ensure we were ok and there to assist if we needed it… A+
Also given a keepsake for our stay….

Everything! The room was the largest and most comfortable we've stayed in in Vietnam. It was clean, smelt good and had all the necessary amenities (hair dryer, towels, kettle etc). The price for the hotel was fantastic as well!
The breakfast was good, had some hot and cold options as well as an Al a Carte menu to order from. They have a water cooler as well. The hotel is a fantastic location with everything needed only a short walk away.
The staff were lovely, especially Mike, Hòa and Rosie. Hoa helped us when we checked in and gave us some great recommendations for the area. She was always there with a smile on her face! Rosie also gave us a goodbye gift and recompensated for our taxi to the airport due to some noise disruption we experienced during our stay. This was appreciated!
What could be improved: It's not a negative point but worth mentioning – it is more suited to older customers or families as it had a lot of support available for organising trips and activities. It's not really somewhere to meet fellow travellers/Backpackers.Rohan from India – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
