Rose Garden Residences Overview

You know what struck me first about Rose Garden Residences? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet stretch of Ngoc Khanh street, but you’re still right in the heart of Ba Dinh – which, if you haven’t been to Hanoi, is basically where all the government buildings are, so it feels properly Vietnamese without being touristy. I mean, you can walk to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in about fifteen minutes, but more importantly, there’s this amazing little pho place two blocks down that the hotel staff told me about (and honestly, their recommendations were spot-on throughout my stay).

The building itself has this sort of understated elegance – it’s not trying too hard to be fancy, but everything feels well-maintained and thoughtful. My room had these big windows that actually opened (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which in Hanoi’s humidity is basically essential. The bed was genuinely comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and I slept really well despite being on a busy street. Speaking of which, the soundproofing is pretty decent; you get that gentle hum of city life but nothing that’ll keep you awake. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk folks speak solid English, which made coordinating my early morning departure to Halong Bay much easier than expected.

What really sets this place apart though is how it feels like you’re staying somewhere locals would actually choose for their visiting relatives. The lobby has this lived-in quality – comfortable chairs, local newspapers, coffee that’s actually good rather than just adequate. There’s a small business center that’s genuinely useful, and the wifi throughout the building is reliable (I was working remotely for part of my trip). The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore Hanoi properly – you’re close enough to walk to the Old Quarter when you want that energy, but far enough away that you can retreat to a quieter neighborhood when the motorbike chaos gets overwhelming. Parking isn’t really an issue since most people don’t drive in Hanoi anyway, but there are always taxis around, and the staff can help you navigate the bus system if you’re feeling adventurous. I stayed here in late spring, and the rooftop terrace was lovely in the evenings – nothing fancy, just a nice spot to decompress with a beer and watch the city settle into its evening rhythm. For a 4-star place, it punches above its weight in terms of comfort and location, and that 8.6 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’ll definitely exceed your expectations in small, meaningful ways.

Reviews of Rose Garden Residences

  • Phill from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (9/10)

Great location in Ta Van. Lovely people, great local culture, good food and a few shops. Nice to be away from the busy town.

    Alex was brilliant with us.

What could be improved: Pool not as big as the pictures but we were so busy we didn’t use it anyway.

  • Willem from Netherlands – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

The place was great for family stay. We love that the housekeepers come and clean things everyday, and they are super friendly. They also have a pool, which we didn't use but it can be great for the summer, and a small play corner for the kids.

What could be improved: We would like to add an extra bed in one room (and willing to pay extra for that), but it was not possible. It was not mentioned clearly in the post.

  • Khishigjargal from Mongolia – 27 February 2025 (8/10)

Spaceous, has gym, pool, and sauna.

What could be improved: The location was a bit inconvenient, but that’s ok.

  • Du from Vietnam – 12 February 2025 (9/10)

    Spacious apartment with big balcony
Having all necessary cooking equipments: cutlery, rice cooker, stoves, etc.
You can enquire dishwasher liquid and washing liquid from the cleaner or receptionist
    Old gym but well equipped
Ok swimming pool with many sun beds
    Etc.

What could be improved: Bed quite hard
Old looking furniture but it’s not a big problem
    No smartTV

  • Robert from Switzerland – 8 December 2024 (9/10)

We had a very nice stay. The location suited us perfectly, the check in was friendly and professional. The apartment was spacious, light, and clean with a very nice view. The swimming pool was clean and pleasant. I would stay there again without any hesitation.

What could be improved: The kitchen is not supplied with dish towels, sponges, or dish soap. So, it meant a trip to the store to buy these products. I understand that most people won't want to prepare their own food in Hanoi, but would recommend offering these items for sale in the lobby.

  • Jose from India – 3 October 2024 (9/10)

cleanliness. … courtesy of front staff

  • Ye from Singapore – 25 September 2024 (9/10)

    Spacious

What could be improved: little bit older

  • Maarten from Luxembourg – 14 September 2024 (9/10)

Comfortable apartment with excellent swimming pool (large, clean, towels available and showers onsite). Staff was very kind and helpful. Nice common area with small library and playground. Daily cleaning of the apartment.

What could be improved: Our kitchen was fine but somewhat scarcely equipped (no scissors, vegetable peeler, sponge).

  • Patricia from Ireland – 14 July 2024 (9/10)

Excellent accommodation. Perfect for a family, all facilities available swimming pool super, kitchen, washing machine if needed kept spotlessly clean.

  • Dmitrbeach from Russia – 27 January 2024 (8/10)

Good hotel for family, very warm, which is important for Hanoi in January.
It’s great that the coffee shop is 15 meters from the entrance to the hotel, and is open from 6.30 to 22.00

What could be improved: I made a reservation at 01.15, wrote to WhatsApp, Booking and Zalo, but they didn’t answer me until the morning….
Upon arrival at the hotel, the taxi driver woke up the hotel administrator. If you have a 24-hour reception, then why does your staff sleep and not respond to guests??
