You know what hit me first about Sen’s Cozy House? The name actually fits – and I mean that in the best way possible. I’ve stayed in too many places that promise “cozy” and deliver “cramped,” but this little gem tucked away on Ngõ Nhà Chung actually nails it. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of being in someone’s thoughtfully designed home rather than a sterile hotel room. Those two queen beds aren’t just thrown together either – they’re positioned so you can wake up and catch glimpses of the narrow alley life happening just outside your window, which honestly becomes part of the charm.

The kitchen is where this place really shines, and I’m not talking about some sad mini-fridge situation. You’ve got proper counter space, a decent-sized refrigerator, and everything you need to whip up a quick breakfast or store those late-night bánh mì runs from the vendors who set up shop around the corner. Speaking of location – and this is where Sen’s really gets it right – you’re literally in the heartbeat of the Old Quarter without being on one of those main drags where motorbikes honk until 2 AM. Ngõ Nhà Chung is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep, but step out and you’re maybe three minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake and all the weekend madness that comes with it. I loved being able to duck back to the apartment when the tourist crowds got overwhelming, which they absolutely will if you’re there during peak season.

The whole setup just works for people who want to experience Hanoi like they’re temporarily living there rather than just passing through. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you realize how rare it is to find a place that balances authentic neighborhood vibes with actual comfort – most places give you one or the other. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional motorbike in the alley and the building’s got that lived-in feel that comes with older Hanoi architecture, but those aren’t bugs, they’re features. The owners clearly know their stuff about what travelers actually want versus what they think they want. You’ll find yourself using that kitchen more than you expected, partly because it’s genuinely functional and partly because there’s something satisfying about making Vietnamese coffee in your own little corner of the Old Quarter before heading out to get properly lost in the maze of streets outside.

  It is a cosy house, compact. The location is great. Although it is small you do have room to spread out. I would stay again.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom is tiny and the water pump is loud. It can be turned off when not being used. The stairs to up to the bedroom are very steep and not good for tall people.

  I Liked the host, Sen, always there and super friendly. Happy to help anyway she could. The location was amazing. So central, (literally 1 min from the Cathedral!) yet quiet, as the property is tucked away from the street. The space is actually quite large, so it would be perfect for a family. Simple yet efficient. It does the job.
  
  What could be improved: I loved the place but I would cautioned people with allergies as there were signs of humidity (mould) on the wall. It is a small detail but if you are affected, you need to know. Also, the property had some noisy appliances. Again, not a big deal for me, but if you are sensitive, it could be a problem for you.

  This house was really2 cute… I really love the design.. and I really don't mind if the house was located in the small lane in the middle of hanoi city. The house also surrounded by 4/5 ** hotels just a few meters from it and great location to catch grab transportation. It is also near to many tourist attractions from here, also lots of souvenir shops u can see here. Such really2 great location for all of the attractions.
  
  The host also very kind to us.. She gives easy direction how to get to her house which is really2 helpfull to us and concern whether we are ok when staying there. We actually want to spend more night here, unfotunately our schedule cannot be changed, but sure will not hesitate to book again if we travel to Hanoi next time.
  
  What could be improved: Just one thing.. it will be better to put the television downstair instead at the bedroom because it is good to chitchating while watching tv.

  It's a great location and the person in charge was very attentive and always helped me any way they could. You can't hear any of the traffic outside despite it being right in the centre
  
  What could be improved: Not much natural light at all and the residential area it's situated in puts up a gate between 12am and 5am, so if you're someone who comes home late you'll probably have to wake up a few people to get in
