Sumitomo3- Luxury apartment hotel near Lotte Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Sumitomo3- Luxury apartment hotel near Lotte, you immediately get that “this isn’t your typical hotel” feeling. It’s tucked away in a narrow alley off Kim Ma Street in Ba Dinh district, which honestly makes it feel more like you’re staying at a friend’s upscale apartment than checking into a four-star property. The entrance is understated — you might actually walk past it if you’re not paying attention — but that’s part of what makes this place special.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s the thing about Ba Dinh — it’s where locals actually live and work, not just where tourists pass through. You’re about a ten-minute walk from Lotte Tower (hence the name), which means you’ve got that massive shopping complex and observation deck right there when you want it. But what I really appreciated was being able to grab bánh mì from the street vendor right at the end of the alley, or duck into one of those tiny coffee shops where they don’t speak much English but make incredible cà phê sữa đá. The area feels authentically Hanoian, if that makes sense.
The Apartment Experience
This is where Sumitomo3- Upscale apartment hotel near Lotte really shines — you’re getting actual apartment-style accommodations, not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge. I mean, there’s a proper kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, and all the basics you’d need if you wanted to cook (though honestly, with Hanoi’s street food scene, why would you?). The living area is separate from the bedroom, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. Everything feels modern and well-maintained, though not flashy — it’s more about comfort than showing off.
Practical Comforts
The Wi-Fi actually works well throughout the apartment, which isn’t always a given in Hanoi’s older buildings. Air conditioning keeps things comfortable even during the sticky summer months, and the hot water is reliable — small things that matter when you’re dealing with the humidity here. What surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being in the city center. Those narrow alleys that seem chaotic during the day actually buffer a lot of the street noise. The staff is helpful without being intrusive, and they seem to genuinely know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward good local spots.
Why Guests Love It
You know what really sets this place apart? It strikes that perfect balance between having your own space and being right in the middle of everything that makes Hanoi interesting. Couples especially seem to appreciate having room to spread out — there’s something romantic about having your own little apartment in this bustling city rather than being crammed into a standard hotel room. The location gets consistently high marks because you can walk to major attractions but still feel like you’re experiencing how people actually live here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers exactly what it promises — a comfortable, well-located base that feels more like home than a hotel.
Hanoi’s apartments welcome families with playground courtyards, bilingual childcare, and kitchenettes for cooking classes.

The apartment is an excellent value for money. Spacious, well lit and nicely decorated, has all the necessary stuff be it a washing or drying machine, bath or a kitchen with all the cutlery to cook your meals, 2 big flat screen smart TVs in each room, or a Japanese smart toilet 🙂 Located in “Japanese” quarter full of authentic Japanese restaurants and cafes, as well as Japanese groceries and corporations. There’s a nice pond with lots of fish in surrounded by a wide range of coffee shops and local bars. The apartment has its own dedicated entrance – you get an access with the push of a keychain button to unlock the garage door.
What could be improved: The only noticeable setback was a an unpleasant smell in a bath seemingly coming out of the sewer.Dorita from Vietnam – 10 September 2023 (9/10)
