The hotel itself sits in one of those narrow French colonial buildings that are everywhere in the Old Quarter, so yeah, the rooms aren’t huge (hence why they’re advertising those two beds so prominently), but honestly, you’re not going to be spending much time inside anyway. The morning routine here is something else – you wake up to the sound of vendors calling out their wares and the clatter of those tiny plastic stools being set up for breakfast, which actually becomes your alarm clock after the first night.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that most people staying here want the authentic Hanoi experience, not some sanitized hotel bubble. They’ll point you toward the good phở place around the corner on Hàng Chiếu (not the touristy one everyone talks about), and they actually know the bus schedules to Sapa if you’re planning day trips. The rooms are clean and functional – nothing fancy, but the AC works well, which you’ll definitely need during summer months. I will say the WiFi can be spotty on higher floors, and if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs because Hàng Đào doesn’t really quiet down until after midnight, then starts up again around 6 AM. But honestly? That’s part of the charm. You’re staying in a neighborhood that’s been a trading hub for literally centuries, so the energy is just different here. The walk to Hoàn Kiếm Lake takes maybe five minutes, and you can easily explore the weekend night market without dealing with taxis or trying to figure out the bus system. For a four-star rating, it’s pretty straightforward – clean, comfortable, well-located, with staff who actually care about helping you navigate the city rather than just collecting your money and pointing you toward overpriced tour packages.
