The Bloom Hanoi – Bespoke Living Overview

You know what caught me off guard about The Bloom Hanoi? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet street in Cau Giay – Phố Dịch Vọng Hậu – which honestly sounds intimidating if you’re not familiar with Vietnamese addresses, but it’s surprisingly easy to find once you get the hang of the area. I mean, Cau Giay isn’t where most tourists end up, and that’s kind of the point. You’re away from the chaos of the Old Quarter but still connected to everything that matters.

The place has this whole “bespoke living” thing going on, and I was skeptical at first (sounds a bit pretentious, right?), but they actually pull it off. The lobby smells like lemongrass and has these gorgeous Vietnamese ceramics that don’t feel like hotel décor – more like someone’s well-traveled aunt collected them over decades. My room was on the seventh floor, and honestly, the elevator is one of those slow, contemplative rides that gives you time to decompress from Hanoi’s beautiful madness outside. The rooms themselves are spacious by Vietnamese standards, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in this amazing natural light. I could hear the gentle hum of motorbikes from the street below, but it wasn’t the aggressive honking you get in District 1 – more like a distant lullaby.

What really sold me was the attention to small things. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that actually has decent water pressure (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and they stock local tea blends that I ended up buying extras of to take home. The staff – well, they remember your name after one conversation, and the front desk guy gave me directions to a bánh mì spot that wasn’t in any guidebook but was absolutely incredible. It’s a 15-minute walk to Lotte Tower if you need that big-city shopping fix, but honestly, I spent most of my time wandering the neighborhood’s tree-lined streets and stumbling into tiny cafés where locals actually hang out. The hotel breakfast is solid – nothing fancy, but they do this Vietnamese coffee that’ll wake you up properly, and the phở is better than what you’ll find at most tourist spots. One small thing though – the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, but that might just force you to actually look out the window at the city instead of scrolling through your phone. All in all, if you want to experience Hanoi like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through, The Bloom gets it right without trying too hard.

Reviews of The Bloom Hanoi – Bespoke Living

  • William from Philippines – 14 April 2025 (8/10)

Breakfast was great. Staff always smiling

What could be improved: Was told I could avail of complementary ride to airport. And they would book it when I checked out. Arrived at airport and taxi driver charge me for the ride. Called the hotel and the desk person said I was supposed to book it the day before. It was a disappointing end to a perfect stay.

  • John from Australia – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

    Excellent location

What could be improved: Our TV connection was not working. The staff did not really want to know about that which was disappointing. It wasn't fixed…

  • Van from Belgium – 1 January 2024 (9/10)

Really nice hotel, not far from MyDinh bus station.
Bedroom equipped with a sofa, a desk and a small kitchen with some utensils (be careful with children as some of the knives are really big).
Bathroom with a bath and a fancy toilet.
A few western dining options in the area.

  • Duy from Vietnam – 22 November 2023 (8/10)

So much worthy price: the toilet is good, really spacious room, there is water in the room (I dont see this in many hotels), friendly receptionists.

What could be improved: There is no facial tissue, the bathtub quality is poor, the jars of conditioner, shampoo are pretty, but not convenient.

  • Anil from India – 21 June 2023 (9/10)

Vegetarian Breakfast was too simple and was same daily.

What could be improved: Nothing specifically.

  • Yueh from Australia – 31 May 2023 (8/10)

It was very clean, comfortable and thought out, e.g they had provided hand wash and sanitiser, clean dish washing sponge and even dishes were arranged neatly.

What could be improved: We weren't aware that they would come and clean. So when we came back, our things were handled (arranged neatly) but we had valuables laying around that we would've loved to have been able to put away if we knew they were coming to clean.

  • Zikang from Japan – 17 March 2023 (9/10)

Amazing hospitality of the staff! Special thanks to Ms.Thu and everyone for making my stay very comfortable.
The location is quite far from the tourist spots but the neighborhood is very homely, which was a plus for me.
The rooms are not as pretty as the photos suggest, but it was totally acceptable considering the price range,

  • Ewen from United Kingdom – 17 February 2023 (9/10)

We stayed at the Bloom for 8 days and found it very comfortable. The staff ere exceptionable – informative, polite and helpful for sites to visit. The room was spacious and quiet. Travelling around and food deliveries by Grab were no problem. Finally, the morning breakfast was delightful and we always looked forward to it.

What could be improved: A full length mirror and a kettle which would keep Western travellers happy. The main room would benefit from some subdued lighting and the bedroom from another bedside table. A few more vegetarian options for breakfast.

  • Rolf from Australia – 3 January 2023 (9/10)

The reception staff were kind and helpful especially Quinn she gave me so many tips for restaurants and where to go.

What could be improved: Bit too far from old quarter

  • Venkatalakshmi from United Arab Emirates – 2 January 2023 (9/10)

There was so much to like about our stay at Bloom Hanoi. We had booked a family suite which was a 2 bedroom spacious apartment with tasteful interiors and a balcony. The staff are courteous, helpful and efficient. they allowed us an early check in around 12noon and were always helpful whenever we had questions or needed to book a cab. Apartment was clean, housekeeping service was provided every day, bathrooms had TOTO japanese toilets, toiletries, dental kit etc were available and balcony was huge with a lovely collection of potted plants. Breakfast was a la carte and good options, though not too many for vegetarians. buzzing area with many shops and restaurants. i would definitely stay here again if i came back to hanoi.

What could be improved: location was quite far from the old quarter. due to crazy traffic it would take us almost 45 minutes each time to get there, even though distance was only 7 kms. no washing machine in the room, though an efficient laundry service is available. the road where the hotel is located is quite narrow and busy, plus construction work is happening nearby so it was a bit chaotic. however once we got into the hotel, it was a quiet oasis.
