THE LEGEND HANOI Hotel Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked down Phố Yết Kiêu – it’s one of those narrow Old Quarter streets that looks like it couldn’t possibly fit anything special. But then there’s THE LEGEND HANOI, tucked right into the heart of Hoan Kiem, and I mean right in the heart. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which sounds touristy until you realize that means you can actually jog around the lake at sunrise before the motorbike symphony starts up around 7 AM.
What gets me about this place is how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm without losing the energy of being in central Hanoi. The lobby has this subtle French colonial thing going on – not overdone, just enough to remind you where you are – and the staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is rarer than you’d think at five-star places. The rooms are what you’d hope for at this level, but it’s the little things that stick with you. The windows are properly soundproofed (trust me, this matters when you’re sleeping above streets filled with honking scooters), and the AC doesn’t sound like a jet engine. I actually slept through the night, which in the Old Quarter is honestly an achievement.
Location-wise, you’re spoiled here. Hang Gai Street with all the silk shops is basically around the corner, and you can walk to St. Joseph’s Cathedral in about five minutes if you want to escape the chaos for a bit. The weekend night market on Hang Dao starts practically at your doorstep Friday evenings – though fair warning, it gets absolutely packed, so if crowds aren’t your thing, maybe plan dinner elsewhere those nights. What I really loved was being able to walk to Cafe Giang for egg coffee in the morning (it’s that famous tiny place on Nguyen Huu Huan), then stroll back through the maze of streets without worrying about finding my way. The hotel sits right where the organized chaos of the Old Quarter meets the slightly more civilized area around the lake, so you get the best of both worlds without feeling completely overwhelmed. The concierge actually knows the neighborhood – like, really knows it – and can point you toward the good pho place that locals go to instead of just the one in your guidebook. That 9.5 rating makes sense once you’ve been there; it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Hanoi, it’s just doing everything really, really well.

Hotel is new. Service is excellent. Furniture exquisite. But pool was not yet open. Room had a very small window with little sunlight. Still very clean and comfy room.

We had an amazing stay here. Really excellent value for money. The level of service and quality is just as good as any other 5 star hotel. Breakfast buffet has a lot of options.
What could be improved: Only minor let down was the TV. No Netflix or any other streaming, and it was difficult to cast to. But everything else was so good it doesn't matter.Drickus from Taiwan – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
Modern rooms, excellent breakfast, amazing staff! Great location near several Michelin restaurants.

Very comfortable stay. No disturbance of any kind. Breakfast was excellent. Above all, the staff support was exceptional. Everyone helped us at various occasions. Very well groomed and highly professional. We were also allowed few hours late checkout without any hassle.
What could be improved: Location. Lot of construction happening around the hotel. So you will find it not convenient to walk around. Also the cabs have to take a long detour to reach the hotel due to ongoing construction activities in the areaSylvia from Thailand – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
The hotel is new and comfortable and situated in the heart of old Hanoi.
We appreciated warm welcome and excellent service.
We stayed here twice and received a room upgrade during our second stay. Thank you very much.
We were happy to use the hotel‘s garage for parking and it was even free of charge.Ian from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (10/10)
Amazing! The reviews online are great, so we had high expectations, but the reviews did not do it justice. The team there make the hotel. They are amazing, friendly, helpful and attentive. Someone from the hotel was on contact with me for a few weeks prior to my arrival and throughout my stay. They arranged trips, taxis, anything we wanted. The facilities were stunning and the location is right in the middle of all things interesting in Hanoi. I cannot say enough about it
What could be improved: Nothing!Virna from Greece – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

I recently stayed along with my family at The Legend Hotel in Hanoi, and I can confidently say it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the kindness and dedication of one staff member along with the other supervisor in particular – Luna.
During our visit, my father unfortunately lost his wallet, which could have easily turned into a stressful ordeal. Luna went above and beyond to help us – she not only assisted in trying to locate the wallet but also personally accompanied us to the police station to make the entire process smoother and less daunting for us. Her genuine concern and willingness to help was incredible
Beyond that, Luna and the rest of the team helped us with tour bookings, local recommendations, and countless small details that made our trip more enjoyable and hassle-free.
The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-located, but it’s the people who made it stand out. If you’re visiting Hanoi and looking for a place where you’re treated not just as a guest, but as a valued individual, I highly recommend The Legend Hotel.Karthy from India – 28 May 2025 (10/10)
