The Zénith, By Harrys Overview
You know what caught me off guard about The Zénith? Walking up to this sleek, modern tower on Tôn Thất Thiệp street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow lane that most tourists probably walk right past. But then you step inside and it’s like someone flipped a switch. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels more like a boutique hotel in Singapore than something you’d find in Old Quarter Hanoi. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day (rare for a 4-star place), and check-in was refreshingly quick – no awkward standing around while they figure out their system.
What really sold me on this place was the location, though I’ll admit it took me a day to fully appreciate it. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough from the main drag that you don’t get the constant motorbike symphony at 6 AM. I could actually sleep with the windows cracked open, which is saying something in Hanoi. The street itself is pretty quiet, mostly locals heading to work or the occasional delivery bike. And honestly, being on a smaller street means you get to see how the neighborhood actually works – there’s this little coffee vendor who sets up right outside every morning, and the woman running the corner bánh mì stall started recognizing me by day two. The rooms themselves are well thought out (finally, enough outlets near the bed), and the AC actually works properly – I stayed during one of those brutal July heat waves and never felt like I was melting. The bathrooms are spacious by Vietnamese hotel standards, though the shower pressure can be a bit hit-or-miss depending on what floor you’re on.
Here’s what I’d tell anyone considering staying here: if you want to be in the heart of things but not feel like you’re camping in Times Square, this is your spot. You can walk to the night market in under ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of staying right on Hang Bac or those streets that never really quiet down. The rooftop bar – and I use that term loosely since it’s more like a terrace – gives you decent views of the lake area without the touristy markup you’d pay at some of the bigger hotels. Fair warning though: the elevator can be painfully slow during busy periods, and the breakfast spread is good but not incredible (stick to the Vietnamese options, skip the Western stuff). But with a 9.2 rating, they’re clearly doing something right, and after five nights there, I get it. It’s one of those places that just works – comfortable without being flashy, well-located without being overwhelming, and the kind of place where you can actually relax after a day of navigating Hanoi’s beautiful chaos.

Reviews of The Zénith, By Harrys
Artem from Estonia – 4 June 2025 (9/10)
The staff is helpful and friendly
It is quite close to train street, so you can easily go there very early in the morning
The amenities were good, and the washer and dryer machines were available for free use.
The room was fresh and clean.
What could be improved: despite location looks close to points of interest, there are not much amenities around it, e.g. restaurants, cafes, shops or ATMs (you will need those in Vietnam). Grab delivers there, but in general it is not that lively around.
NOT critical issue and is not directly related to the hotel 🙂Hoàn from Vietnam – 4 May 2025 (10/10)
Friendly staff, good location, clean room

Lovely staff, easy check-in, cosy, comfortable.
Lovely place, not sure why problem are moaning about hot water because I have long showers and never. Very good location, a lot nearby and the Train Street
What could be improved: N/A – was perfect for a one night stay. I wouldn't mind longer but already had a family booking elsewhere.Chen from United States – 23 April 2025 (8/10)
Beuatiful design, nice gym, walking distance to many things in old quarter.
What could be improved: Bathroom drain had a very nasty sewage smell the whole time.Ruby from Australia – 20 April 2025 (9/10)
Well maintained apartments in a good location.
What could be improved: On the pricier side.Stephanie from United Kingdom – 20 April 2025 (10/10)
The location was brilliant, really close to everything but on a quiet street. Staff were brilliant and so helpful. I haven’t got a bad thing to say about the place. Highly recommend this place if you are wanting to explore the old quarters of Hanoi. Nicest place we stayed in Vietnam.

This is a great place to stay. Quiet, clean and tastefully decorated. We had a one bedroom suite that was very large. The free laundry facilities were just around the corner.
The location was also really good. Close to plenty of sites, but on a quieter street.Tú from Vietnam – 23 January 2025 (10/10)
