TINH ANH HOME Overview
You know what surprised me most about TINH ANH HOME? It’s tucked into this narrow building on Trần Hưng Đạo – and I mean really narrow, the way Vietnamese shophouses are – but somehow they’ve managed to create this genuinely peaceful retreat right in the heart of Old Quarter chaos. I was honestly skeptical when I first walked up because the street is, well, it’s proper Hanoi busy. Motorbikes weaving everywhere, that constant hum of city life, vendors calling out in Vietnamese and broken English. But the moment you step inside, there’s this immediate hush that just wraps around you.
The thing about staying here is you’re literally a five-minute walk from Hoàn Kiếm Lake – and I actually timed it because I’m obsessive like that. But more importantly, you’re close enough to duck into all those tiny alleyways where the real food happens. There’s this bún chả place around the corner that doesn’t even have a proper name, just plastic stools and the most incredible grilled pork you’ll ever taste. The hotel staff (who speak surprisingly good English, by the way) actually pointed me toward it, which tells you something about how plugged in they are to the neighborhood. The rooms themselves are clean in that meticulous way that good Asian hotels do so well – I mean, they somehow make a relatively small space feel airy and uncluttered. The AC works properly too, which honestly isn’t a given in this part of town, especially during those brutal summer months when Hanoi feels like you’re walking through soup.
What really won me over though was how they handle the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. Check-in was smooth even though I arrived early (they stored my bags without any fuss), and they’ve got this little system for helping with motorbike rentals and day trips that doesn’t feel pushy or commission-heavy. The breakfast – well, it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s solid Vietnamese coffee and fresh fruit, plus they’ll do eggs however you want them. Honestly, after a few days of street food adventures, sometimes you just want something reliable and familiar. The location means you’ll hear the city waking up around 6 AM, but that’s part of the Hanoi experience, isn’t it? If you wanted silence, you probably wouldn’t be staying in the Old Quarter anyway. For the price point and that 8.9 rating (which feels about right to me), TINH ANH HOME delivers exactly what it promises – a clean, comfortable base that puts you right where you want to be without any pretense or unnecessary fuss.

Marina from Australia – 25 May 2025 (5/10)
The room was a reasonable size, bed was comfortable and close to Hanoi railway station if you are travelling by train
What could be improved: The location is very difficult to find, the sign for the apartment is difficult to see and we felt that better information could’ve been given in sending photos of the entrance as is down a small lane and doesn’t show up properly on Google Maps. The lady at Reception was lovely but speaks no English at all and had to contact the host by phone whilst we were there. We were only given one elevator key and one room key which meant that neither of us could go out separately for a walk etc. As we couldn’t get back in. I ended up asking the lady the next day for a separate key which she was reluctant to do but it was necessary. When we arrived, the fridge was still full of food from the previous guest which smelt badly, the Reception lady came and cleaned that out after we contacted the host to let them know. There was no rubbish bin in the kitchen and the toilet paper was the last small amount remaining left by the previous guest, I had to request toilet paper. The main cupboard doors wouldn’t open so we struggle to get the quilt out for the bed at night, the air conditioning is reasonable but not fantastic and the Internet was very poor. There is major construction on the main road as they appear to be putting in a new underground railway system from Hanoi railway station. We felt instructions could’ve been much clearer over all . The host did address each of the issues that we mentioned above but not a good start to a stay in a hotel. We have been travelling Vietnam for five months now and this is probably the least Suitable accommodation we have booked so farShangheng from Taiwan – 24 May 2025 (9/10)
睽違半年又回到Tinh Anh,和上次住在同一間房間,一切非常的熟悉,設備也維護的很好。距離火車站很近,交通便利。以後會再回來。

Nice room. Big bed.
What could be improved: No staff at receptionStephanie from Netherlands – 12 December 2024 (8/10)
The room was very spacious and beautifully maintained, offering plenty of comfort and a modern, well-equipped bathroom. The host was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any questions or needs. The location was absolutely perfect—everything you might need was within close proximity, and most attractions or key spots could be reached on foot in under 30 minutes, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the area.
What could be improved: There was a significant amount of noise. The sounds of the elevator, neighbors, and street activity were all quite loud. Additionally, construction work was ongoing, causing disturbances even at night. The bed also creaked noticeably whenever you turned.Maťová from Czech Republic – 30 November 2024 (9/10)
Very cozy, clean and modern apartment approximately 15min by foot from the Old Quarter. The owner agreed with late check-out because of our late flight. Everything was perfect.
What could be improved: Close to the apartment is a construction. It can be disturbing at night however we didn't have problem with sleep. The receptionists are nice people but they are not speaking English, that's why our check in took more time.Tobias from Germany – 11 November 2024 (9/10)
We liked that the apartment because it was so close to the Ha Noi railway station. It was spotless clean and had everything we need. They owner its chariming and realy friendly. We asked if we could check out later and she said its no problem. A water cooker was there air condition works fine. When we walked to the apartment we saw that a construction is in front of the apartment we expected that it would be noisy in the morning. But surprise it was not noisy so in our opinion it was really quiet we slept well. We can highly recommend this apartment because of the location and quitness during the night.
What could be improved: Nothing everything was perfectPhoebe-jo from United Kingdom – 1 May 2024 (9/10)
Huge tv with Netflix App. Bed and pillows were super comfortable, open planned and spacious, shower was amazing. Kitchen with plates and utensils. Host was very responsive via the booking.com App. Excellent laundry service nearby that offers pick up/drop off service.
What could be improved: Nothing, everything was great!Kimberly from United Arab Emirates – 29 April 2024 (8/10)
The room is big, clean and very modern and just across the train station.
What could be improved: If you plan to walk around the center and old town it is not the best but of course theres always a taxi to book by grab or rent a scooter.Michela from Ireland – 21 April 2024 (9/10)
