Vinhomes Metropolis Hanoi Apartment Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Vinhomes Metropolis? It’s actually not really a hotel in the traditional sense – it’s more like staying in someone’s really nice apartment in one of Hanoi’s sleekest residential towers. I mean, when you walk into that lobby, you’re basically entering what feels like a luxury condo building, complete with residents coming and going with their groceries and kids.
The location on Liễu Giai is honestly pretty sweet if you know Hanoi at all. You’re right in Ba Dinh district, which means you can walk to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in about fifteen minutes (though honestly, who wants to do that walk in July heat?). What I really loved is how you’re tucked away from the Old Quarter chaos but still close enough to grab a taxi there in ten minutes. The building sits right next to Lotte Tower – you literally can’t miss it – and there’s this massive shopping complex connected that’s perfect for when you need to escape the humidity or grab Western food when you’re having one of those days where you just can’t face another bowl of pho.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious, especially by Hanoi standards. I’m talking full kitchens with actual ovens (rare in Vietnam), washing machines, and these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you pretty decent city views. The Wi-Fi actually works reliably, which – let’s be honest – isn’t always a given in Vietnam. My only real complaint is that the walls can be a bit thin; you might hear your neighbors occasionally, but it’s nothing worse than most hotels. The building has all these facilities that residents use – swimming pool, gym, kids’ play area – so you get access to stuff that would normally cost extra at a traditional hotel. Check-in was smooth enough, though the staff’s English is hit or miss depending on who’s working that day.
What really makes this place work is the neighborhood vibe. There’s a Korean BBQ place literally downstairs that’s packed with locals every night (always a good sign), and you’ve got several convenience stores within a two-minute walk. The nearby streets have these little coffee shops where you can sit on tiny plastic stools and watch motorbikes zip by – that’s the real Hanoi experience right there. If you’re the type who likes having a home base where you can actually cook a meal or do laundry without paying hotel prices, this setup is pretty ideal. The 8.3 rating makes sense to me; it’s not luxury hotel service, but you get way more space and independence than you’d find elsewhere in this price range.

Reviews of Vinhomes Metropolis Hanoi Apartment Hotel
Ek from Finland – 29 April 2025 (6/10)
Good location, right next to Lotte shopping mall, UN and embassies;
Lobby staff was nice;
Good washing machine & dryer;
Nice playarea in the 3A floor;
Good layout and enough space;
Active communication from the host before payment;
What could be improved: Facial recognition only worked for two people even though registration was done for all 4 adults;
The apartment had beds for 6 people but no dining table chairs or dishes, spoons/mugs, etc. We bought our own.
Even though there was an apartment hotel there was no hand soap and we bought our own toilet paper after the first roll;
Some places were dirty (we didn't dare use the ceiling fan because it was so dusty);
No information was provided ready-made, we had to know to ask for everything what was included in the price and what was not. there were no instructions inside the apartment about anything (about the services of the house, how to deal with trash, cleaning the apartment, etc.);
The swimming pool is not part of the services, although it said otherwise on the Booking page. We complained about this to Booking after the coordinator said that the house rules prohibit the use of the pool by shorter residents. After complaining to Booking, we received access cards for the pool within a couple of days;
As nothing was said about cleaning, when the cleaner wasn't around for the first 7 days, we asked about it and were told that it had to be agreed separately and the price includes cleaning 2-3 times a week. But they only cleaned the floors & toilets, and for our seperate request they came to change the sheets the next day;
Payment only in cash(?)Jos from Netherlands – 22 March 2025 (8/10)
