This isn’t your typical sterile apartment rental. When I walked into the lobby, there was this immediate sense that someone actually thought about design here, not just threw together whatever looked expensive.

The location on Nguyễn Văn Ngọc is pretty clever, actually. You’re in Ba Dinh, which means you get that authentic Hanoi neighborhood feel without being stuck in tourist central, but here’s the thing – you can literally see Lotte Tower from most of the upper floors. I mean, it’s right there in the name, but seeing it lit up at night from your window hits different than just knowing it’s nearby. The street itself is surprisingly quiet for being so close to everything. I was expecting more motorbike chaos, but it’s actually one of those pockets where locals live their actual lives. There’s a little coffee shop two doors down that opens at 6 AM – proper Vietnamese coffee, not the stuff they make for tourists – and the woman who runs it started recognizing me after day three.

The apartments themselves feel like someone’s well-traveled cousin designed them. Nothing too flashy, but everything works the way it should. The kitchen actually has sharp knives and pans that aren’t warped, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. Air conditioning is solid – important in Hanoi’s summer months when the humidity makes everything stick to you. I stayed in a one-bedroom unit on the seventh floor, and the shower pressure was honestly better than my place back home. The Wi-Fi reaches every corner, which matters when you’re trying to work from the little desk area they’ve set up by the window.

What really sold me on this place was the small stuff. Check-in was at 2 PM exactly, no weird delays or missing key cards. The building entrance requires a key card even for residents, so you’re not dealing with random people wandering the halls. Parking is available but limited – if you’re renting a motorbike, book a spot in advance. The neighborhood gets pretty lively on weekend evenings, not rowdy drunk lively, more like families-out-for-dinner lively, which I actually found charming. You’ll hear life happening around you without feeling like you’re stuck in the middle of a party you didn’t want to attend. That 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s not perfect, but it gets the important things right and doesn’t try to be something it’s not.

  The location is very convenient.
  The room is clean.
  The price is reasonable.
  The host is responsive, especially when locating the place. It's not in Google Maps.

  What could be improved: There is a certain chemical smell in the room. I think it came from the bathroom as after closing it, the smell cleared a lot.
  The bed is hard
  After late flight and long wait for taxi, we arrived at the hotel late at night and we're quite tired. Upon arrival, the receptionist asked for payment immediately. We asked to see the room first, he relented though with a frown. It would be better to usher the guests into the room first so they would see it and deal with the payment a little afterwards or even the next day.
