A25 Luxury Hotel Overview

So I’ll be honest – A25 Luxury Hotel caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes a place just feels right the moment you walk in? That’s what happened here. It sits right on Minh Khai street in Hai Ba Trung district, and I mean, the location is actually pretty brilliant once you get your bearings. You’re not in the thick of the Old Quarter chaos (which, let’s face it, can be exhausting after a few days), but you’re close enough that a quick taxi or motorbike ride gets you anywhere you want to be.

The thing about this hotel is that it genuinely tries to live up to that “luxury” part of its name, even though it’s a solid 4-star property rather than those ultra-premium places. The lobby has this warm, contemporary vibe – not trying too hard to be traditionally Vietnamese, but not completely soulless either. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the staff actually seemed to know their stuff about the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Bach Mai area (there’s this incredible pho place over there), the front desk guy gave me specific street names and even warned me about the traffic patterns during rush hour. That’s the kind of local knowledge you don’t always get.

The rooms are well, they’re really quite nice. Clean lines, decent space – nothing groundbreaking but definitely comfortable. The AC works properly (crucial in Hanoi’s humidity), and honestly, the bed was better than I expected. You know what I appreciated? The bathroom actually had good water pressure, and the shower didn’t flood the entire floor. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong. There were a few scuff marks on the walls and the wifi could be spotty on higher floors, but nothing that really bothered me. The 7.3 rating makes sense – it’s good, solid, reliable without being spectacular.

What I really liked was how the hotel sits in this part of Hai Ba Trung that feels authentically Hanoian. Step outside and you’ve got street vendors, local coffee shops, and actual Vietnamese people going about their daily lives – not just tourist-facing businesses. There’s a great bun cha place literally two blocks away that I stumbled upon completely by accident. The area gets properly quiet at night too, which is something you definitely can’t say about staying near Hoan Kiem Lake. Parking seemed fine if you’re crazy enough to rent a car in Hanoi (I wasn’t), and the motorbike situation looked manageable.

I mean, look – this isn’t going to be your Instagram-perfect luxury experience, but that’s not really what Hanoi is about anyway. A25 gives you a comfortable base with genuine character, staff who actually care, and a location that lets you experience the city rather than just the tourist version of it. For the price point, it’s honestly pretty solid. You’ll sleep well, start your day properly caffeinated from the decent breakfast setup, and feel like you’re staying somewhere that makes sense for exploring this incredible, chaotic, wonderful city.

Reviews of A25 Luxury Hotel

  • Lidia from Australia – 24 January 2025 (6/10)

Location and staff were very nice. It’s clean. I loved that the sauna was not at an extra charge but the indoor pool was freezing. As in probably 10°, as close as you can get to an ice pool.

What could be improved: I was put in a non smoking room and the whole time I could smell smoke. I believe it was coming through the bathroom vents. As I’m not a smoker, it’s not very good. I have shower baths. Thought it would be modern enough to have a glass screen instead of an old shower curtain

  • Kohki from Japan – 18 January 2025 (8/10)

Kindly lobby staffs & funny door men

  • Carney from United Kingdom – 14 December 2024 (8/10)

The location is good for me as it is close to the hospital where my husband is having treatment.

What could be improved: I would have liked a little more information about what I needed to help me find my way around, as I have never been to Vietnam before and found it a little overwhelming.

  • Birender from India – 1 December 2024 (9/10)

Staff were very friendly and efficient

What could be improved: Breakfast could be better

  • Stephen from United States – 29 June 2024 (9/10)

inside was well kept; front door, security, and front desk services were friendly and helpful; housekeeping services were prompt and efficient

What could be improved: it did not have a convenience store nearby, nor a sundry (which I am accustomed to); it was a fair walk to get to the more “touristy” locations – needed to use ride share services often

  • Melvyn from Philippines – 11 May 2024 (6/10)

    Excellent buffet breakfast!

What could be improved: Location, very down market!

  • Christopher from United States – 22 March 2024 (8/10)

  • Amina from Oman – 10 February 2024 (8/10)

The location was great for my travel needs.
The breakfast buffet choices were great.
    Overall good experience.

What could be improved: Carpets should really be removed from the rooms since it can get dusty and funky smelling.
I had a few awkward interactions with reception when I call to enquire or reserve something and the staff does not speak English, they would just hangup on you!

  • Orla from Ireland – 12 January 2024 (7/10)

The lobby is gorgeous, the room was nice and was always clean. The bathroom was lovely with free toiletries and always hot water. We loved the option of the bath too. They also cleaned every day. There is a big display for breakfast and never ran out of the options.

What could be improved: We chose this as a nice hotel for Christmas being away from home out of our budget but it is not luxury and we were disappointed. The rooms and style are very outdated. For a 4 star 'luxury' hotel I would expect at least one member at reception to speak English, it was very difficult for questions quite frequently. Breakfast doesn't really cater for a western breakfast. It's a good bit from old town, not walkable. There's a mall near and very few restaurants. It's very overpriced for what you get.

  • Datta from India – 31 October 2022 (9/10)

Staff was very helpful and kind. Cleanliness was nicely maintained. Services offered very upto the mark
