Aira Boutique Hanoi Hotel & Spa Overview

You know what struck me first about the Aira Boutique? Walking up to it on Tran Phu Street, it actually feels like someone’s elegant townhouse rather than a typical hotel. I mean, most places in this part of Hoan Kiem District try way too hard to look boutique-y, but this one just… gets it right. The entrance is understated in that confident way that tells you they don’t need to shout about being special.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in real Hanoi instead of tourist bubble land. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake – and I’m talking about the quieter north side where locals do their morning tai chi, not the chaos near the weekend night market. Turn left out of the hotel and you’ll hit Hang Bong Street, which has some of the best pho joints that haven’t been discovered by every travel blogger yet. The spa here is surprisingly legit too, which matters because after a day of dodging motorbikes and navigating the Old Quarter’s maze of streets, you’ll want those shoulders worked on. I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star places where the spa feels like an afterthought, but their therapists actually know what they’re doing.

What really sold me on this place though – and why I keep coming back when I’m in Hanoi – is how they handle the details. The rooms are quiet (miracle in this city), the AC works properly during those brutal summer months, and honestly, the breakfast spread beats most five-star hotels I’ve tried. They do this Vietnamese coffee that’s strong enough to wake the dead, plus they’ll make you proper eggs benedict if you’re feeling homesick. The staff remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag and trying to figure out which temple is which. Check-in is smooth – no standing around for twenty minutes while they photocopy your passport three times like some places do. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s one of those rare spots where everything just works without feeling sterile or over-managed. Plus, and this might sound random, but the elevators are actually big enough for your luggage and two people, which is apparently asking too much at half the boutique hotels in this neighborhood.

Reviews of Aira Boutique Hanoi Hotel & Spa

  • Ana from Thailand – 5 June 2025 (10/10)

The hotel is very complete, with a pool, spa, gym, restaurant and even a tailor inside the building. The staff is very polite and attentive. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The breakfast is very complete, one of the best we had in Asia, with a lot of fruits.

What could be improved: Nothing in particular, I would suggest to include a moisturizer as an amenity.

  • Brett from Australia – 5 June 2025 (9/10)

Staff were very friendly. Lovely decor. Room spacious. Hospitality staff Sim , Ivy and Ninh were especially attentive and lovely. They looked after us very well. Food was also fresh and delicious.

What could be improved: Nothing major. Just maybe put a bit of healthy muesli in for a breakfast cereal option.

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (10/10)

Quite simply fabulous in every way.
Can’t think of a single criticism.
This is a superb hotel and we had a brilliant stay there

What could be improved: Absolutely nothing

  • Jean from France – 29 May 2025 (10/10)

Everything was absolutely perfect, from the location, the refined decoration, the equipment and comfort, the attention to details, the great restaurant, and above all the professional, attentive and kind team. They even upgraded us because we will be staying 2 more times. A very special place to stay!

    What could be improved: N/A

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (9/10)

This is a lovely hotel, very close to Train Street, with a great rooftop bar with panoramic views across the city.
Staff we lovely, helpful, pleasant and welcoming.

What could be improved: A bit expensive compared to others in Vietnam.

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 28 May 2025 (9/10)

We stayed for 3 nights in total and they stored our luggage for the 3 days we were elsewhere. Got a room upgrade both times and some free drinks vouchers for the bar, which was a nice addition. This is very nice hotel, a bit too nice for the amount of time we ended up using it, which is a bit of a shame.
Very close to Train Street, if you like that sort of thing, but quiet at night.
The staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

What could be improved: Laundry was charged by item, which made it more expensive than other places that charge by weight.
Overall, quite expensive by Vietnamese standards.

  • Michelle from New Zealand – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

Staff was incredibly helpful and kind to make our stay memorable and smooth, with nice attentions for us
Great facilities, we had an amazing massage and the rooftop bar and pool are nice too.
Long term luggage storage was very convenient as well.

What could be improved: 10/10 here

  • Judith from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)

The location in the French Quarter was excellent – very close to Train Street and the Fine Arts Museum and an easy walk or taxi ride away from central visitor attractions. The staff were super-helpful, always ready to provide tips and useful information to enhance our stay. The quality of breakfast and dining was excellent.

What could be improved: The hotel exceeded my expectations.

  • Howard from New Zealand – 20 May 2025 (9/10)

Breakfasts were great, room was very nice, location was close to many attractions, roof top bar was fantastic

What could be improved: Milk for tea/coffee in rooms (but was supplied when requested)
