Unique Train street / Old Quarter View Apartment Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Unique Train street / Old Quarter View Apartment on Phố Hàng Lược, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This four-star property sits right in the thick of Hanoi’s Old Quarter — I mean, you can literally hear the energy of the streets below from the moment you arrive. The building itself might look unassuming from the outside, but honestly, that’s part of the charm in this neighborhood where every narrow alley holds surprises.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re actually positioned where you can experience both the famous train street phenomenon and the authentic Old Quarter life simultaneously. The apartment gives you front-row seats to one of Hanoi’s most unique attractions — trains literally rumble past nearby buildings twice daily, and locals have turned it into this incredible social experience. But beyond the train excitement, you’re surrounded by the real Hanoi that locals know. Street food vendors set up right outside, and you’ll find yourself navigating the same narrow streets that have been bustling with commerce for centuries.
The Space
The room itself strikes that perfect balance between modern comfort and local character. What impressed me most was how they’ve managed to create a peaceful retreat while keeping you connected to the street life below — the windows offer those promised Old Quarter views, and you can watch the daily rhythm of motorbikes, vendors, and neighbors going about their lives. The space feels authentically Vietnamese without sacrificing the amenities you actually need as a traveler. There’s even a small kitchenette area, which comes in handy when you want to store those late-night street food purchases or brew morning coffee before heading out to explore.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they actually have parking available on site, which is honestly a miracle in the Old Quarter where most streets are barely wide enough for motorbikes. The staff knows the neighborhood inside and out, so they’re your best resource for timing that perfect train street visit or finding the best phở spot that tourists haven’t discovered yet. I also appreciated how they handle the logistics of getting around — they understand that navigating these ancient streets can be overwhelming for first-time visitors.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.7 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects how this place delivers on its promise of authentic Hanoi living with modern comfort. Couples especially seem to connect with the romantic chaos of Old Quarter life from this vantage point, and I can see why they rated the location so highly for romantic getaways. You’re close enough to walk to Hoan Kiem Lake for sunrise, yet tucked into a residential street where you experience how locals actually live. The train street novelty might draw you in initially, but it’s the genuine neighborhood atmosphere and thoughtful hospitality that make you want to extend your stay.

Nice apartment in a local part of old town.
Fast internet and free airport transfer (we stayed 4 nights) – even at 4am.
Our travel plans changed a little bit on rather short notice but the host was very understanding and supportive.Zulx69 from Malaysia – 18 March 2025 (10/10)
location near the city centre, amenities was great and comfortable
What could be improved: the bed squeaky soundNoel from Ireland – 21 July 2024 (7/10)
Location was very good, central and close to everything. Supermarkets nearby.
What could be improved: The apartment was nice, but it would benefit from a deep clean in some areas.
The electrical wiring also needs to be tidied up. There are lots of exposed junctions.
The apartment is in an alleyway and part of a residential block.
We found the neighbours very noisy during our stay.Sara-eve from Canada – 5 June 2024 (10/10)

Enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is well equipped- has everything needed for a short term stay- washing machine, electric hot plate, pots, pans, microwave, refrigerator, smart TV with Netflix, high speed WiFi. Clean, comfortable and centrally located, walking distance to major attractions. The host Henry and Ann were very prompt in responding to our queries. One thing to note, there is only one window in the kitchen that opens up for fresh air, all other windows are sealed with glass. Bring your own basic groceries tea/coffee/sugar/oil etc.

Lincoln from Australia – 7 April 2024 (8/10)
