Maison Nhã 51A Nguyễn Khắc Hiếu Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Maison Nhã 51A Nguyễn Khắc Hiếu, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical Hanoi hotel. Tucked into a narrow street in Ba Dinh district, this four-star boutique property has that intimate feel you can only get in a converted French colonial building. The entrance is understated but elegant — honestly, I almost walked past it the first time because it blends so naturally into the neighborhood’s historic architecture. Every detail of the facade speaks to careful restoration and respect for the building’s heritage.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re in Ba Dinh, which means you’re close to major sights like the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Temple of Literature, but you’re not drowning in tourist crowds. The street itself is quiet enough that you can actually sleep with windows open (rare in Hanoi, trust me). There’s a fantastic pho place literally two doors down that locals frequent — I mean, when you see Vietnamese families lining up at 7 AM, you know it’s good. The location gets high marks from recent guests for good reason. You’ll find yourself discovering hidden cafes and local markets within easy walking distance, making it feel like a genuine neighborhood stay rather than a typical tourist experience.
The Rooms
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between Vietnamese charm and modern comfort. Mine had these gorgeous hardwood floors and traditional touches like lacquered furniture, but the air conditioning was powerful and the WiFi actually worked everywhere. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — quality linens, a proper desk if you need to work, and bathrooms that feel upscale without being over the top. The windows are well-insulated too, which you’ll appreciate given Hanoi’s enthusiastic motorbike culture. Each room is individually decorated, so you’re not getting cookie-cutter hotel standardization.
Service & Atmosphere
The staff here genuinely seem to care about your experience, not just going through the motions. They’ll help you navigate the city’s quirks (like explaining why certain streets change names three times in two blocks), and they’re honest about restaurant recommendations. The whole place has this calm, residential vibe that’s refreshing after dealing with Hanoi’s beautiful chaos all day. It’s the kind of place where you can decompress without feeling like you’re missing out on the city’s energy. The common areas encourage lingering and conversation, creating a sense of community among guests.
Why Guests Love It
Couples especially appreciate this place, and I can see why — it’s intimate without being cramped, sophisticated without being stuffy. The 9.3 rating reflects what you actually experience: a well-run property that delivers on its promises. You’re getting genuine Vietnamese hospitality in a setting that respects both local culture and international comfort standards. It’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Hanoi, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. This is where you stay when you want to experience Hanoi as a resident, not as a tourist passing through.
Hotel in Hanoi reservations rise before national holidays, so travelers secure balconies overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake.

Everything matched the listing perfectly. The room was lovely, and although our stay was short, we really enjoyed it. The location is right in the heart of the Old Quarter — super convenient. Highly recommend this place!

The apartment was bright, airy, and beautifully decorated. Waking up to the peaceful view was a highlight of my trip. Plus, the location was unbeatable—so close to everything but still a peaceful retreat from the city buzz.

We had a fantastic stay here. Lovely, spacious and light apartment, the perfect place to return to after a day of exploring Hanoi. We also loved the area, outside of the old quarter, with lots of great local cafes, bars and eateries. Also, big thanks to Hazel on reception who, throughout our stay, was incredibly attentive and helpful. Would definitively recommend staying here!
Conrick from Australia – 4 March 2025 (9/10)
The area was lively with cafés and restaurants, but the apartment itself was quiet and relaxing. A great choice for anyone looking for a balance between city life and a peaceful retreat.

The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals, and the spacious living room was perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The high-speed internet was also a huge plus for staying connected. Maison Nha offers the perfect blend of modern convenience and local charm. It’s a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a peaceful, cozy, and well-located place to stay in Hanoi.

The apartment was modern, well-maintained, and just a short walk from Truc Bach Lake—a peaceful escape from the city rush. I also felt super safe with the 24/7 security, which made my stay even more relaxing. Waking up to the city view with a coffee in hand? Absolute perfection.
