Okay, so Ami House is tucked away in this maze of alleyways off Đội Cấn Street – and I mean really tucked away. You’ll be walking down what feels like someone’s private lane, wondering if your GPS has lost its mind, when suddenly there it is. The address looks intimidating (14A/35/135 – seriously?), but once you figure out the alley system in this part of Ba Đình, it actually makes perfect sense. It’s one of those places that feels like a secret, which honestly makes finding it kind of satisfying.

The thing about staying here is you’re genuinely in a neighborhood, not a tourist bubble. I mean, you’ll hear motorbikes starting up in the morning and smell phở cooking from the little place around the corner – which, by the way, serves better breakfast than most hotels anyway. The Ami House itself has that boutique hotel vibe without trying too hard, you know? Four stars feels right – it’s polished and comfortable without being stuffy. The 8.7 rating makes sense too because while everything works well and the staff genuinely cares, you’re not paying for marble lobbies or fancy pools you’ll never use.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being in the city center. Those narrow alleys actually work in your favor – there’s no through traffic, just locals coming and going. You can walk to the Old Quarter in about fifteen minutes, or catch a taxi to Hoan Kiem Lake in five, but when you come back, it feels like retreating to this calm pocket of real Hanoi. The rooms are thoughtfully designed too – not huge, but cleverly laid out with good lighting and surprisingly effective air conditioning. Actually, the shower pressure was better than places I’ve stayed that cost twice as much. One small thing though – if you’re arriving with big luggage, just know that getting through those narrow alleys might require some maneuvering, especially if it’s been raining and you’re dealing with a scooter or two parked along the way.

  The receptionist Minh was very helpful and kind. He helped to rent a bike and with the luggage. Good and silent place to stay.
  
  What could be improved: We can’t use a rooftop and 1st floor for work, so we decided to change the hotel because the room is small for a work. But very good for a vacation, it’s not far from the center and has a great viewing lake nearby

  The hotel and our room were very nice and clean for the price. The staff, especially Minh, were very friendly and helpful. Since it was a bit difficult for us to find the hotel, Minh picked us up and helped us with our luggage. He's really good at his job. We were very satisfied with our room and the staff.   The property was very worth for the price. And the staffs were also good . And its a family business. No need to afraid for anything . We are also a part of family business in india. And servicing for foreigners. Most of the guest were from Europe and we know how a family is bonded for it to a great success. Your room is very beautiful, but Please ensure the room is cleaned properly by the staff.
  
  What could be improved: Our rooms were full of dust and not cleaned properly when we arrived. And we informed them and waited for 3 hours outside street for cleaning but even when we returned back the rooms were not cleaned. That makes us a little difficulties. After even cleaned and received the keys. the room was not cleaned properly. And i used to clean wipe out the dust from the doors and shelfs of wardrob. because i am an Asmatic patients. Other than that very very good staff and helping over phone and consideration.

  I had a great experience at Ami House Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient. I want to especially mention Minh, the receptionist, who was extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Minh went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect.   It's silent and beds are comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: The room was full hairs everywhere, floor, shower, towels… The towels had a terrible smell. There was no soap available. The kettle was dirty. The staff spoke no English. I told them times with photos about some hairs on the shower wall and floor. It took three days to get them to clean the shower hairs and worst of all, I only found out that I got my room cleaned and tidied just because I complained, once the hairs were removed the remaining days there was no cleaning or towel changing anymore.
  The location is a very noisy and polluted part of the city with a super busy street impossible to walk to get to the old quarter. Not many restaurants around. Avoid.

  The room was really nice, cozy. The toilet is really comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: Despite the thorough explanation from the staff of how the lock's passcode works. However, it is really difficult to remember.
  
  There's no towel in the room and no bathroom mats, which is unpleasant.
  
  The entrance is located at the end of a very narrow alley, taxi drivers often refuse to drop you at your alley, instead they drop you on the main road, you have to walk in
