You know, I’ve walked past Anv Hanoi probably a dozen times before I actually stayed there – it sits on Tôn Đức Thắng street in Dong Da, which honestly isn’t where most tourists end up, and that’s exactly why I love it. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street, more like a well-designed apartment building that someone with good taste decided to convert. When you’re coming from the chaos of the Old Quarter (and let’s be real, it gets overwhelming after a while), this part of town feels like you can actually breathe.

The staff here genuinely seem to care about what they’re doing – I mean, check-in was smooth, but more importantly, they actually listened when I asked about getting around the city. The concierge gave me this hand-drawn map showing which xe om drivers to trust near Kim Liên metro station, which is about a seven-minute walk away. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t Google. The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully minimal” – clean lines, good lighting, and honestly some of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in across Southeast Asia. The air conditioning actually works (crucial during Hanoi’s sticky summers), and the soundproofing is solid enough that you won’t hear motorbikes revving at 5 AM, though you’ll still catch the gentle hum of the city waking up if you listen for it.

What really sets this place apart is the neighborhood itself – you’re close enough to walk to West Lake when you want that expat cafe scene, but you’re also surrounded by the kind of street food stalls where locals actually eat. There’s this bánh mì place literally around the corner that opens at 6 AM, and the woman who runs it started recognizing me by day three. The hotel’s location means you’ll spend less time dodging tourist crowds and more time figuring out how this city actually works. I’ll be honest, it’s not the flashiest place – the lobby is more “sophisticated minimalist” than “Instagram-worthy grand entrance” – but after a day of exploring temples and dodging traffic, you want somewhere that feels like a retreat, not another attraction. The 9.3 rating makes sense once you’ve been here; it’s not trying to be everything to everyone, it’s just really, really good at being what it is.

  Great place, clean room with all the things you might need for a short or long-term stay. Location is very convenient, in the center of Ha Noi, close to most major landmarks, a lot of markets and shops, obviously. About 10-15 minute walk from the Train street and the main train station, The host is extremely helpful and responsive. We will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the city.

  Somewhat equipped kitchen you can use (fridge, microwave, stove, electric kettle, a pot, a pan, 2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 sets of chopsticks, 2 spoons, a knife, 4 glasses including the ones in the bathroom). Situated close to the Temple of Literature, a few shops, faramacies, bistros and a coffee stand. Old Quarter is about 20 minutes away on foot or a short Grab ride away.
  
  What could be improved: The rooms get cleaned automatically, so you have to explicitly ask not to clean the room- there's no sign you can put up on the door. The kitchen does not have all the stuff for cooking (cooking oil, salt, pepper, spatulas, etc, so you'll have to buy that). Also, there's no elevator, so you'll have to walk up a few flights of stairs to get to your room- beware of that if you have a bad leg.
  A bit tricky to get inside the building between 8 PM- 8 AM, but they send you a video on how to work the keypad lock.

  Местоположение отеля, комфорт и дружелюбие. Накануне списались с владелицей апартаментов, она подробно все рассказала. Заселиться было очень легко. Рядом множество кафе, магазинов. Мы получили удовольствие от города благодаря этим апартаментам.

  What could be improved: L'arrivée. Impossible à trouver avec les indications fournies et il a fallu que j'appelle trois fois le propriétaire pour finir par trouver l'endroit après avoir erré trois quarts d'heure dans les environs.

  무인 체크인/아웃 시스템이고 매일 청소해주십니다. 방도 넓고 침구류 방 모두 깨끗했고 수건도 매일 새걸로 갈아주십니다. 가격에 비해서 서비스가 아주 좋다고 느꼈고 문의에 대한 사장님 답변도 빠릅니다. 공항에서 오고가는 차 예약도 해주십니다
  
  What could be improved: 숙소 안에 있는 식기류들이 살짝 더러운데 설거지할 도구가 없어 그릇을 모두 사야했습니다.
