Nguyen Khang is one of those streets that locals actually use – there’s a constant buzz of motorbikes and the occasional xe om driver who’ll nod at you like you belong there. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk from Keangnam Tower if you need that landmark reference, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by actual Vietnamese life. There’s this little bun cha place two blocks down that doesn’t have an English menu but serves the best grilled pork I had in the city. The woman who runs it started recognizing me after the second day, which… well, that’s when you know you’ve found the right neighborhood. And if you need to get to the Old Quarter or anywhere central, grab a Grab – it’s usually under 100,000 VND and drivers know the area well.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to the chaos of Hoan Kiem district. You can actually sleep without earplugs, which is saying something for Hanoi. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that you don’t get in sterile hotel rooms – real kitchen equipment if you want to try cooking with ingredients from the local market, proper lighting for reading, and a bathroom that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The host was responsive when I had questions about the washing machine (Vietnamese instructions only, but they walked me through it over WhatsApp), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I mean, no marble lobby or concierge in uniform, but sometimes you just want someone to hand you the keys and let you settle in. The Wi-Fi actually worked consistently too, which matters if you’re trying to stay connected or upload photos without losing your mind. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying in for breakfast sometimes instead of rushing out, especially when you realize how nice it is to drink coffee while watching the street wake up below.

  Sáng nay, tôi chuẩn bị đi thi nhưng vì một số lý do, tôi không để ý rằng thời gian đã trôi qua quá nhanh. Khi nhận ra, tôi tá hỏa vì giờ thi đã đến mà mình vẫn còn ở khách sạn. Trong lúc hoang mang, nhân viên khách sạn đã ngay lập tức phản ứng. Họ nhanh chóng lấy xe và chở tôi đến phòng thi với tốc độ nhanh nhất có thể.
  
  Nhờ sự giúp đỡ kịp thời ấy, tôi đã có mặt đúng lúc và hoàn thành bài thi của mình. Sự tận tâm và hỗ trợ nhiệt tình của nhân viên khách sạn thực sự khiến tôi cảm kích. Những hành động nhỏ nhưng đầy ý nghĩa như vậy khiến tôi cảm thấy nơi đây không chỉ là chỗ lưu trú mà còn như một điểm tựa trong những lúc quan trọng.

  What could be improved: Грязно. Тараканы. 1 полотенце на двоих. в каждом двухместном номере. Полотенце рваное и грязное. Ни кружек, ни тарелок, ни ложек… вообще ничего нет из кухонной утвари. Сырость и неприятный запах в номере. Обязательный ранний выезд.

  Trong căn phòng nhỏ xinh, chiếc chăn ấm nằm gọn trên chiếc giường gỗ mộc mạc, tỏa ra cảm giác dễ chịu và ấm áp. Lớp vải mềm mại, mịn màng như vuốt ve làn da, được trang trí bằng những họa tiết hoa lá dịu dàng, hài hòa với màu sắc pastel của căn phòng. Khi ánh sáng nhẹ nhàng từ chiếc đèn bàn chiếu xuống, chiếc chăn như phát sáng, gợi lên cảm giác an yên và thoải mái. Mỗi lần quấn mình trong chăn, ta như được ôm ấp bởi sự ấm áp, xua tan đi cái lạnh và mang lại giấc ngủ yên lành.
