You know what caught me off guard about the Hanoi Tunger Grand Hotel? It’s tucked right into that maze of narrow streets in Hoan Kiem, but somehow they’ve managed to create this pocket of calm without losing any of the neighborhood’s energy. I mean, you step out the front door on Lương Ngọc Quyến and you’re immediately in the thick of things – motorbikes weaving past, street food vendors setting up their tiny plastic stools, that whole beautiful chaos that makes Hanoi what it is.

The location is honestly perfect if you actually want to experience the city rather than just observe it from a distance. You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake (I timed it because I’m weird like that), and all those little coffee shops where locals sit for hours nursing their cà phê sữa đá are right there. The hotel staff – and this surprised me – actually know the area well enough to point you toward the good phở places that tourists haven’t discovered yet. There’s this tiny spot around the corner that doesn’t even have a proper sign, but they sent me there and honestly, best bowl I had in the city. The rooms themselves feel more spacious than you’d expect in Old Quarter Hanoi, probably because they’ve kept the design clean without all that overdone colonial nostalgia you see everywhere else. The AC works properly (crucial detail in Vietnamese summers), and the windows actually block out most of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional motorbike horn – which I sort of loved because it reminded me I was really there, not in some sterile international chain bubble.

What really sold me on this place was how they handle the small stuff. Check-in was quick even when I showed up early and sweaty from the airport, they had cold towels ready without making a big production of it, and the elevator – okay, this sounds silly but hear me out – actually fit my luggage and me at the same time, which is rarer than you’d think in this part of town. The breakfast area gets busy around 8 AM with a mix of business travelers and tourists, but if you go a bit earlier or later, you can actually sit by the window and watch the street vendors setting up their displays of fresh herbs and vegetables. I spent way too much time doing exactly that with my coffee, just watching this whole intricate morning routine unfold below. For a four-star place, it punches above its weight without trying too hard to impress you – which, after staying in places that spend more energy on their marble lobby than their actual service, felt refreshing.

  Emplacement – ensemble des sites touristiques intéressants proche a pied excepté le mausolée d'Ho Chi Minh et le musée militaire.
  Personnel – accueillant et prennent le temps pour vous expliquer quoi faire ( avec photo et carte ) + organise les voyages vers ha long avec des explications détaillée sur les croisière a prendre ou non. S'occupe aussi des demandes spéciales pour vous ( j'ai personnellement demandé à être ramener vers ninh binh au lieu d'hanoi après ha long)
  
  What could be improved: Au 5 ème étage ( etage le plus haut ) on entend quand meme le traffic routier, les vitres isolent mal.
  Ca se couvre avec de la musique. L'établissement serait parfait s'il pouvait mettre du double ou triple vitrage.

  Hospitality was second to none. Especially would like to point out Aimee who was super helpful with all our issues/queries.
  The hotel interiors are also beautiful and stepping in feels like you are in a top notch establishment.
  Also the free upgrade for day 1 was a nice surprise.

  Khách sạn nằm trên tuyến phố đi bộ , sầm uất , ăn uống thuận lợi. Phòng ốc sạch , thoáng , có cửa sổ nhìn xuống phố .
  Các bạn lễ Tân rất nhiệt tình chỉ cho tôi các điểm vui chơi . Tôi sẽ quay lại đây khi đi cùng gia đình vào dịp tới.

  This Hotel was Perfect and our room was so clean und cozy. Aimee do the Manager was very friendly. She gave us some tips for Sight seeing and where we can get the best local Food. Also the location was perfect, I have a lot of family in Hanoi and I had I lot of stuff to do and for everything I just needed 15 to be there.
