Bao Hung Hotel & Apartment – Tran Thai Tong Overview

You know what struck me first about Bao Hung Hotel & Apartment? It’s tucked away on this quiet side street off Tran Thai Tong, which honestly is perfect because you get the best of both worlds – easy access to everything but without the constant motorbike symphony that comes with staying right on the main drag. I mean, you’re still in Cau Giay district so there’s definitely city energy, but at night it actually gets peaceful enough to sleep with the windows cracked open.

The building itself has that modern Vietnamese hotel vibe – clean lines, lots of glass, and thankfully a decent elevator (trust me, after walking around Hanoi all day, you don’t want to haul your luggage up four flights). What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to make the rooms feel spacious despite clearly working with typical Hanoi real estate constraints. The apartment-style units are genuinely useful if you’re staying more than a few days – having a kitchenette means you can grab fresh stuff from the local markets instead of eating out every single meal, which your stomach and wallet will appreciate. The regular hotel rooms are solid too, with surprisingly good air conditioning and blackout curtains that actually work.

Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to Lotte Tower if you need that big mall fix, and the neighborhood has this great mix of local pho joints and slightly more upscale places where you won’t feel underdressed in shorts and flip-flops. There’s a Circle K practically next door (essential for late-night snack runs), and I noticed several coffee shops within a block or two – including one of those tiny local places where the coffee costs about 50 cents and tastes better than anywhere back home. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well, which is refreshing. When I asked about getting to the Old Quarter, they didn’t just say “take a taxi” – they explained the bus routes and mentioned which streets to avoid during rush hour. Honestly, that 8.7 rating makes sense once you factor in that it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, it’s just trying to be really good at what it does. The price point feels fair for what you get, especially considering you’re still central enough to walk to most places you’d want to see, but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually relax when you get back at the end of the day.

Reviews of Bao Hung Hotel & Apartment – Tran Thai Tong

  • Valérie from France – 11 May 2025 (9/10)

    What could be improved: Rien

  • Kyle from New Zealand – 25 January 2025 (9/10)

Large room, good cleaners and with gym.

What could be improved: Sauna and spa in maintenance

  • David from United Kingdom – 2 January 2025 (7/10)

    Spacious clean accommodation

  • Federica from Italy – 26 December 2024 (9/10)

Perfect stay, the apartment is really big and everything is clean and new, they clean your room every day which was really appreciate it and there's a gym which could need a renovation but still did its job. There's few restaurants nearby and a supermarket as well. Keep in mind tho that it's 30 minutes by car from the old Quarter, personally for me was perfect but it depends on what you are looking for. Highly recommend stay here tho!

What could be improved: This is totally a personal preference but you get breakfast in your room at 9 am, which for me is extremely early, I would have appreciated if the latest for breakfast could have been around 10. But like I said this is totally subjective

  • Thế from Vietnam – 18 December 2024 (9/10)

    Tiện nghi, sạch sẽ

What could be improved: Bữa ăn chưa đa dạng món

  • Stanislav from Russia – 25 December 2023 (9/10)

Very good hotel and very good personal. Nguyen Doan helps us about all the questions and not just about service in hotel(he helps us a lot), but all about whole Hanoi city.
It was very helpful for us and we really appreciate this high level of services.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Abraham from Albania – 21 December 2023 (9/10)

I must say the quality is excellent, the staff is friendly and professional. If you want to stay long-term, this will be a worthwhile choice

  • Anh from Vietnam – 19 December 2023 (9/10)

Reception staff enthusiastically welcome and enthusiastically assist customers

  • Hyungeun from Singapore – 10 November 2023 (7/10)

When we arrived in the evening, the receptionist who assisted us with check-in was exceptionally friendly and warm. Despite his limited English proficiency, he made a great effort to explain the nearby locations of shops to us. We are very grateful for his assistance! We stayed in a one-bedroom suite, which was very spacious and equipped with a kitchen (although we didn't use it).

    Amenities included:
    Elevator
    Hot water in the bathroom
    Hairdryer
    Clothes hanger
    Efficient air conditioner
    TV (with only local channels)
Breakfast (the breakfast is à la carte; you can pre-order room service the night before, but if you go directly to the 10th floor, be prepared for a bit of a wait)

What could be improved: The cleanliness needs improvement; our room wasn't very clean. I found a lot of hair on the pillow, and upon opening the duvet, I discovered numerous stains and even bloodstains on the blanket, indicating that they might not have changed the sheets. Considering the region and value for money, I don't think the price for one night in Vietnam is particularly cheap.

Additionally, there was no iron and tumble dryer, even though the hotel's description indicated their availability.
The towels had old stains and weren't very clean.
The restaurant didn't match the favorable impression from the pictures; it looked a bit worn out, but the staff was very friendly.
It's worth noting that there is a staircase of about 10 floors at the hotel entrance, which might be inconvenient for people with difficulty walking or those carrying a lot of luggage.

  • Marc from Switzerland – 13 December 2022 (9/10)

    Almost everything was great.

I arrived very late, a guard that did not speak English was waiting there for me, but he was wonderfully instructed, which made a problematic check-in more than possible. he even had some more water for me, since it was too late to buy some.

The staff (from the guard to the receptionists to the cleaning staff) was cordial and friendly, but i did not get to know them that well.

The room wa absolutely nice, it was big, quiet, and comfortable. The kitchen allows for some simple cooking too.

The Gym was pretty good (it had some endurance machines some hangers and a couple of weights) and can be AC'd in summer.

The location is pretty good, not far is a convinience store and surrounding the hotel are cheaper or more expensive food places for your convenience. Also near the hotel are other things like launderys, pharmacies and everything you would want. In fact the whole region seems to be a small living enviorment for vietnamese people which makes it great if you just want to get to know city life.

What could be improved: The place is a bit far away from the normal tourist attractions like beer street and such or also cultural landmarks. also stores around the location close pretty early comparetively.

The waterpressure of the shower in the bathtub is very low, but at least the water is hot. the waterpressure of the shower-shower is acceptable, but the water is very cold.
