You know what struck me first about Branda Apartment & Hotel? It’s tucked away on Hong Tien Street in Long Bien, which honestly feels like stepping into the real Hanoi – not the tourist bubble most people stay in. I mean, Long Bien district has this authentic energy that’s hard to find once you cross back over to the Old Quarter. The building itself has that modern Vietnamese aesthetic going on, clean lines but not sterile, and when you walk in there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep.

The apartment-style setup is honestly brilliant if you’re staying more than a couple nights. You get proper space to spread out – and I’m talking actual room to open your suitcase without playing Tetris with the furniture. The kitchenette situation is legit too, which matters when you want to grab fresh ingredients from the local markets (there’s a fantastic one about ten minutes’ walk toward the river). What really got me though was how quiet it stays, even during the day. Long Bien doesn’t have that constant motorbike symphony you get in the city center, so you can actually hear yourself think. The staff – well, they know their neighborhood. Ask them about the best pho place and they won’t send you to some tourist trap, they’ll point you toward where the construction workers eat breakfast at 6 AM.

Here’s the thing about staying in Long Bien that most travel sites won’t tell you: you’re positioned perfectly to explore Hanoi like someone who lives here, not just visits. The Red River is right there for morning walks, and getting into the heart of the city takes maybe fifteen minutes by taxi – but honestly, rent a motorbike and you’ll feel like you’ve unlocked a secret level of the city. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a luxury hotel with marble everything; it’s trying to be a really good place to actually stay while you experience Hanoi. And that attention to detail shows up in weird ways – like the water pressure is actually decent (trust me, this matters), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on your roof. If you’re the type who wants to be within stumbling distance of beer street, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to wake up in a neighborhood where your biggest decision is which family-run cafe to try for your morning coffee, and you want space to actually relax after a day of exploring – well, Branda gets it right.

  I had eggs, fresh fruits, vegetables for breakfast. Skipped noodles even those looked so good. Fried noodles are not my choice on mornings. Hotel is new so all areas were new and clean. My basic room was clean and I couldn't see any cockroaches at my room which I really like. I don't like bug's. Hotel stuff were great and really helpful. AC worked well. The room was well equipped. I specially liked the washing machine. I washed my fitness clothing after every use. My room was quiet as I didn't have the City view. Old town view was great. This is a great hotel for European travelers.
  
  What could be improved: No menu available at the breakfast.
  Fitness center didn't have AC, only one Fan.
  It was a small challenge to order food at the local restaurants without Vietnamese translator.

  Location not far from old town centre.
  Staff in restaurant for breakfast though not much choices were people were polite and pleasant. Reception team, great.
  
  What could be improved: Approach to hotel due to height is little tough on foot and one side of road was blocked near hotels so taxi drivers were happy 😊

  I loved the room, the facilities, the receptionists, the cleaners and the views. No issue was too small, and the nice gestures from staff were too sweet. For example I received ripped money during my travels and the receptionist Mai quickly went to action to fix it. And when I washed my clothes I just left everything around my room and balcony to dry and when I came back the cleaners had not only fixed up my bed and toiletries they had also gotten a drying rack and placed all my wet clothes on the balcony to dry.
  
  Finally the reception manager Kim was so friendly and helpful in rebooking another stay and accommodating to my late checkin having a staff there and ready to check me in.
  
  Thank you Kim, Mai and everyone for a comfortable and memorable first stay on Vietnam.
  
  What could be improved: It would be nice if the gym had aircon, but this is such a small detail as there is a fan and many windows to keep you cool.

  Everything – the facilities were spot on, the location perfect (in an up and coming area with great walking areas and plenty of eating options and coffee stores within a couple of meters away) and the staff always extremely helpful and very hospitable.
