You know what surprised me about Bunny’s Homes? It’s tucked away in this sprawling Vinhomes Ocean Park development in Gia Lâm, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a serviced apartment setup. But walking into the lobby, there’s this clean, modern vibe that immediately puts you at ease – nothing flashy, just well-thought-out spaces that actually feel like someone cares about the details.

The location is interesting, I mean, you’re not in Old Quarter Hanoi with all the motorbike chaos, but that’s actually refreshing. Vinhomes Ocean Park is one of those newer residential complexes that feels almost like its own little city – there’s a massive artificial beach right there (hence the “Ocean Park” name), shopping areas, and plenty of green space where you can actually breathe. Getting into central Hanoi takes about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic, which isn’t bad at all. The ride-hailing apps work perfectly from here, and there’s decent public transport if you’re feeling adventurous. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – you can actually sleep without earplugs, which is saying something for this part of the world.

The rooms themselves are spacious, more like proper apartments than hotel rooms, with kitchenettes that are actually functional (not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation). The beds are comfortable enough, though the pillows are a bit soft for my taste – but that’s pretty standard around here. Air conditioning works well, which matters during those humid summer months when Hanoi feels like a sauna. The WiFi is solid throughout, and I never had issues with hot water, even during peak evening hours. Staff speaks decent English and they’re genuinely helpful, not just going through the motions. Check-in was smooth, though if you’re arriving during Vietnamese holidays, expect things to move a bit slower – that’s just how it goes.

Here’s the thing about the 7.5 rating – it’s honest. This isn’t a luxury resort, and it doesn’t pretend to be. It’s a well-run, comfortable place that does the basics really well. The pool area gets busy on weekends with families, but weekday mornings it’s practically empty. There’s a convenience store right in the complex, and honestly, the food court has some surprisingly good options – the bún chả stall is run by this elderly woman who clearly knows what she’s doing. Parking is included, which is huge if you’re planning to rent a car or motorbike to explore the surrounding areas.

I’d recommend this place if you want a break from the intensity of central Hanoi but still want easy access to everything. It’s particularly good for longer stays – a week or more – when you want to settle in rather than just crash between sightseeing. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel since it’s where actual Vietnamese families live, not just tourists, so you get a different perspective on the city. Just don’t expect nightlife within walking distance; you’ll need to head into town for that.
