The room I stayed in had decent air conditioning (crucial in Hanoi’s humidity) and a window that actually opened, which is surprisingly rare in this part of the city. You know what impressed me? The buffet breakfast is honestly better than it needs to be for a place in this price range. The dining area gets busy around 8:30, so if you’re an early riser, you’ll have the place mostly to yourself.

Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. What it does is nail the fundamentals while putting you exactly where you want to be in Hanoi. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good banh mi place two blocks over or help you figure out which temple is worth the walk.   The location is very central yet fairly quiet. Breakfast on the roof terrace was very nice. The room was very comfortable.
  Lily at the reception was an angle and tremendously helped me to sort out a mess-up with a 3rd party tour booking.
  
  What could be improved: Be aware that this hotel is in the area that is pedestrian only during the weekend. So some walking from/to a tour bus/taxi required.
  My room didn't have a convenient location for putting my suitcase.

  Perfect location with everything within easy reach. 1-2 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake.
  The breakfast was great—loved the fresh salad, and especially the bacon! The staff were incredibly polite and professional. Very easy to communicate.
  I highly recommend booking a room with a lake view—it’s absolutely worth it. Can’t wait to come back to Vietnam.
