Centre Point Hanoi Hotel Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Centre Point Hanoi Hotel on Hang Hanh street, you immediately get that feeling you’ve found something good. It’s tucked right into the Old Quarter’s maze of narrow streets, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star place punch way above its weight. The building itself isn’t flashy — it’s got that understated Vietnamese hotel charm that actually works better than trying too hard.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about staying in Hoan Kiem District — you’re basically in the beating heart of Hanoi, and this hotel gets that completely right. I mean, you can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about five minutes, and the weekend night market is practically on your doorstep. The narrow streets around here buzz with motorbikes and street food vendors, but somehow the hotel manages to feel like a quiet refuge when you step inside. Couples especially seem to love this spot (they’re rating the location nearly perfect), and I get why — there’s something romantic about being able to wander these historic streets together.

The Room Experience

The rooms are what you’d expect from a well-run three-star — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out. Nothing revolutionary, but they’ve clearly put effort into making the space work efficiently. The room I stayed in had decent air conditioning (crucial in Hanoi’s humidity) and a window that actually opened, which is surprisingly rare in this part of the city. You know what impressed me? The attention to small details — good lighting for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and blackout curtains that actually block the street noise.

Breakfast & Daily Rhythms

The buffet breakfast is honestly better than it needs to be for a place in this price range. They’ve got the usual suspects — eggs, toast, fruit — but they also include some Vietnamese options that let you ease into the local food scene if you’re not ready to dive straight into street pho at 7 AM. The dining area gets busy around 8:30, so if you’re an early riser, you’ll have the place mostly to yourself.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t a place that’s going to wow you with fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. What it does is nail the fundamentals while putting you exactly where you want to be in Hanoi. The staff actually knows the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good banh mi place two blocks over or help you figure out which temple is worth the walk. For the price point, especially given that location score of 9.8, it’s hard to argue with the value proposition. You’re paying for position and competence, and sometimes that’s exactly what makes a trip work.

Reviews of Centre Point Hanoi Hotel

  • Jens from Netherlands – 24 May 2025 (10/10)

The location is very central yet fairly quiet. Breakfast on the roof terrace was very nice. The room was very comfortable.
Lily at the reception was an angle and tremendously helped me to sort out a mess-up with a 3rd party tour booking.

What could be improved: Be aware that this hotel is in the area that is pedestrian only during the weekend. So some walking from/to a tour bus/taxi required.
My room didn't have a convenient location for putting my suitcase.

  • Eszter from Hungary – 21 May 2025 (10/10)

The room was nice, the staff were really professional and helpful, we had a lovely breakfast with a view

  • Kat from United Arab Emirates – 16 May 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location with everything within easy reach. 1-2 minute walk to Hoan Kiem Lake.
The breakfast was great—loved the fresh salad, and especially the bacon! The staff were incredibly polite and professional. Very easy to communicate.
I highly recommend booking a room with a lake view—it’s absolutely worth it. Can’t wait to come back to Vietnam.
Thank you to the amazing team!
