Champton Hanoi Hotel Overview
You know what really struck me about Champton Hanoi Hotel? It’s right on Hang Bong street, which honestly sounds like it should be touristy chaos – but it’s actually on this quieter stretch where you can still hear the city humming without wanting to stuff cotton in your ears at 6 AM. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, but you’re not paying those insane lakefront prices or dealing with the constant stream of motorbikes that comes with being right on the main drag.
The lobby has this sort of understated elegance thing going on – not trying too hard to scream “boutique hotel” like some places in the Old Quarter. The staff actually remembers your name after day one (rare for a 4-star place), and they’ve got this way of giving you directions that includes stuff like “turn left at the pho lady with the blue plastic stools” instead of just street names that mean nothing when you’re jet-lagged. The rooms are what you’d expect for the rating – clean, comfortable beds that don’t feel like sleeping on cardboard, and the AC actually works without sounding like a helicopter landing. I stayed on the fifth floor and could see these glimpses of the lake between buildings, which was a nice surprise they don’t advertise.
Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: breakfast isn’t just the usual sad continental spread. They’ve got proper Vietnamese coffee (not that instant stuff), fresh bánh mì ingredients so you can basically make your own, and the woman running it will show you how to eat the local dishes properly if you ask. Plus, they’re totally cool with you grabbing extra coffee to take up to your room – some hotels get weird about that. The location means you can walk to Ngoc Son Temple before the crowds hit, then circle back through the weekend night market if you time it right. Only downside? The elevator’s a bit slow, but honestly, that’s half the hotels in this part of Hanoi anyway. For a 9.1 rating, it actually lives up to the hype without feeling like you’re paying for a bunch of fancy amenities you’ll never use.

Reviews of Champton Hanoi Hotel
Matt from Australia – 5 June 2025 (10/10)
My partner and I had an exceptional stay at the Champton Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome—especially Bella, who went above and beyond when my partner wasn’t feeling well. Her kindness and attentiveness truly made a difference. The service and facilities here are among the best we’ve experienced, and I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

The hotel is so well located and the staff were so friendly and got to know us during our stay. The breakfast was also excellent.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the rooftop bar terrace wasn't open due to construction so there was nowhere to sit outside.Toby from United Kingdom – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
Extremely attentive staff, nice facilities, and a great selection at breakfast.
We were able to keep our bags there whilst we went out on our final day. Also, when we arrived to check in there was a complimentary drink, snack, and a cold towel whilst the room was finished off which, after a long journey was greatly appreciated.
All in all, a great experience.
What could be improved: Would have been nice if the pool bar was open but currently under construction, will be a nice addition when it's finished!Jane from Australia – 30 May 2025 (10/10)
We have returned to this hotel and have not been disappointed . Staff went out of their way to assist us with some questions and were more than happy to accomodate some changes needed at our end! Would recommend to others and return when next we visit

Clean, stylish and modern interior. The staff were lovely and greeted me every day, even the cook. I had a long stay of around a month and they were really helpful the whole time. The location is great, walking distance of the old quarter without the crazy traffic and people everywhere. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
What could be improved: There is ongoing construction work of the rooftop bar which was not mentioned to us at any point before arrival. The pool was still open for use most days, with some interruptions but otherwise fine.
