You get actual kitchen space with a real stove (though I’ll admit the exhaust fan could be stronger – Vietnamese cooking gets aromatic fast), and the living areas are spacious enough that you don’t feel like you’re camping out in a shoebox. The furniture’s that sort of modern-but-safe style you see everywhere these days, nothing offensive but nothing that’ll win design awards either. What I really appreciated was the washing machine – after a few days of Hanoi’s humidity and street dust, being able to do laundry without hunting down a service was honestly a relief. The Wi-Fi actually works properly too, which isn’t always a given in these residential conversions.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to appreciate – you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist stuff and real Hanoi life. Walk one direction and you hit all the government buildings and monuments, walk the other way and you’re in these residential streets where locals are doing their morning tai chi and buying bánh mì from cart vendors who’ve probably been working the same corner for decades. The nearest big street is Đội Cấn, where you can catch buses or grab a Grab easily, but you’re far enough off it that you don’t get the constant motorbike symphony at 6 AM. There’s a decent local market about ten minutes away on foot – nothing touristy, just regular people buying vegetables and noodles, which I found way more interesting than the organized chaos of the Old Quarter markets. The staff speaks solid English and they’re genuinely helpful with directions, though honestly, half the charm of this neighborhood is just wandering around and seeing what you stumble into. At this price point and with this much space, it’s a solid choice if you want to feel less like a tourist passing through and more like someone who’s actually staying in Hanoi for a while.

  The location was good as I walked down to West Lake a lot for morning exercise. Once you walk around the area more little places became apparent.
  
  What could be improved: Maybe public transport. It was only buses so doesn't avoid the traffic. But Grab was cheap anyway. And walking was okay although have to be careful as footpaths are very narrow.

  Excellent location, quiet small street. Drinking water in the apartment with new water proved as part of housekeeping. Secure building with pleasant check in and nice housekeeping staff taking time to translate words. Great convection cooktops. Washing machine. Modern television with an accessible HDMI port.
  
  What could be improved: The slats in the bed frame keep falling apart, causing the bed to collapse in the middle of the night. There is a washing machine for clothes but nowhere to hang and dry the clothes, we asked about this and received no reply from the host to this day. We purchased a rope and pegs to create our own clothesline on the balcony. The kitchen knife is blunt and barely useful. For the final two weeks the bath towels were not changed when the room was cleaned. The shower isn't sealed to the wall so it's impossible to have a shower without water flowing down behind the shower and flooding the floor of the room. Lots of noise construction noises from the top of the building. Unreliable and often slow internet Wi-Fi, not possible to maintain video calls.
