Charm Home 3 Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Charm Home 3 on Lò Sũ Street – I mean, the name sounds pretty generic, right? But this little boutique spot actually surprised me in the best way. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, which means you get all the energy of the Old Quarter without being right on top of the tourist chaos. The building itself has this nice blend of French colonial bones with modern touches that don’t feel forced or overdone.

What really got me was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. The guy at reception (I think his name was Minh?) gave me these specific walking directions to avoid the motorbike traffic during rush hour, and he was spot-on. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed – not huge, but everything has its place, and the beds are genuinely comfortable. I stayed on the third floor and could hear just enough street life to feel connected to the city, but it wasn’t disruptive at night. The air conditioning works properly too, which honestly can’t be said for every place in this price range in Hanoi.

You know what really sealed the deal for me though? The breakfast situation. They don’t do some massive buffet spread, but they’ll make you proper Vietnamese coffee and pho that’s actually good – not the watered-down tourist version. Plus, being on Lò Sũ puts you right in the heart of things without the constant honking you get on Hang Bac or some of the other main drags. I could walk to the night market in about five minutes, hit up Bia Hoi Corner when I wanted that scene, but also duck into some of the quieter alleys when I needed a breather. The 9.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but it nails what it’s actually going for. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Hanoi rather than just passing through it, this place gets it right.

  I truly enjoyed my stay at this homestay! The location is perfect, just a short walk from the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, allowing you to dive straight into the vibrant life of Hanoi. At the same time, the accommodation is tucked away in a quiet courtyard, making it a perfect place to relax after a day full of impressions.
  
  The room was very clean, stylishly furnished, and equipped with everything you might need. But what really makes this place special is the warm hospitality of the host. She was always helpful and offered great tips on local restaurants, sights, and even hidden cafés you’d never find on your own.
  
  The value for money is unbeatable. I would come back anytime and can highly recommend this homestay to anyone who wants to experience Hanoi in an authentic and comfortable way!

  The host was very helpful. They went the extra mile to help me book a ride to the apartment as well. And were ready at the entrace to help with all the instructions.
  
  The house is made very cozy, and looks like a cute place to be in. It's on the ground floor, and easily accessible for bags and trolleys.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom is small, not so convinient for taking baths. But it was possible, just within limited space.
  
  And the aesthetically pleasing almirah might not be best for keeping heavy stuff in, but good for a short stay.
