Delica Premium Hotel Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Delica Premium Hotel on Hang Quat Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the narrow Old Quarter facade. But man, was I wrong. This place completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how some hotels try too hard to be fancy? Well, the Delica actually pulls it off without feeling pretentious.
The location is what really sold me, though. Being right in Hoan Kiem means you’re literally in the heart of everything – I could hear the gentle hum of motorbikes and street vendors starting their day around 6 AM (which honestly became oddly comforting after the first night). You’re maybe a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, and all those little coffee shops along Ly Thai To Street are right there when you need your morning Vietnamese coffee fix. The staff seemed to get that guests actually want to explore the area too – they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map, but actually marked up spots where locals eat and which streets to avoid during rush hour.
What struck me most was how they managed to create this sort of calm oasis while being smack in the middle of all the Old Quarter chaos. The rooms have this clean, modern feel without losing the character you’d expect in a historic neighborhood. The bathrooms were surprisingly spacious for Hanoi standards, and – this might sound silly – but the shower pressure was fantastic, which matters when you’ve been walking around dusty streets all day. I stayed on the fourth floor and could actually see glimpses of the lake from my window if I craned my neck just right. The air conditioning worked like a dream too, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those humid summer months. One small thing that bothered me initially was that the elevator is pretty tiny, but honestly, most buildings in this part of Hanoi are like that, so it’s not really the hotel’s fault. The breakfast spread was solid – nothing too fancy, but they had both Western options and local dishes, and the pho was actually better than some street stalls I tried. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff spoke excellent English, which made coordinating things like late-night returns and taxi bookings much easier than I expected. After staying at a few places around Vietnam, I can see why this one scores so highly with travelers – it’s that sweet spot where you get genuine comfort and service without feeling like you’re trapped in some sterile international chain hotel bubble.

Staff were wonderful. They even packed a breakfast for us as our transport arrived early. Any issues we had they checked in a timely way. Location was great and couldn’t hear the traffic noise from the room.
