Delux Tay Ho Homestay Overview
You know what struck me first about Delux Tay Ho Homestay? The location on Đường Bưởi is actually perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Hanoi rather than just visiting it. I mean, you’re right in Ba Dinh district where the locals go about their daily routines – there’s this great little café about two blocks down where office workers grab their morning pho, and honestly, watching that morning rush with your coffee became part of my daily ritual.
The homestay itself has this comfortable, lived-in feel that you don’t get at those sterile chain hotels. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need – decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, hot water that stays hot, and beds that don’t leave you with a sore back. The rooms have this mix of modern touches and Vietnamese character that feels authentic without being touristy, if that makes sense. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re in the middle of the city. The building seems to buffer most of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional motorbike convoy – but that’s just Hanoi being Hanoi.
Here’s the thing about staying in Ba Dinh that guidebooks don’t always mention – you’re actually in one of the most walkable parts of the city. The Temple of Literature is maybe a 15-minute stroll, and you can reach the Old Quarter in about 20 minutes on foot if you’re feeling adventurous. But more importantly, you’re surrounded by these tree-lined streets where locals hang out in the evenings. There’s this little park nearby where people do tai chi at dawn, and the street food scene is incredible once you know where to look. The homestay staff were pretty good about pointing out spots that weren’t obvious tourist traps – they recommended this bun cha place that doesn’t look like much from the outside but serves some of the best I had during my entire stay. Check-in was smooth, none of that awkward waiting around, and they actually remembered my name throughout the week, which sounds small but makes a difference when you’re far from home.

I had a wonderful 5-night stay at Rate Delux Tay Ho Homestay from December 28 to January 2. The place was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The atmosphere was cozy, and the location was convenient for exploring Hanoi.I highly recommend it for a relaxing stay!

Washmachine with dryer.
What could be improved: Difficult location. Grab car can reach 100m away. Shower room and toilet room are separate, but when use shower room, all water goes to toilet and floor become wet.Nathan from United States – 24 November 2024 (4/10)
What could be improved: The apartments have a very bad mold problem. Two times they gave me a dirty apartment. Dirty linens. Dirty bathroom. Food on the counter. Dirty dishes. Hand prints on the walls. Animal hair in the bed. When I asked for a refund they kept a very high nightly rate. Why should I pay extra for such poor service?

The place felt quite like home as host provided almost everything we needed. The people working for the accommodation is also polite and nice. The gate requires our finger print to open which makes it really safe.
Best thing about this place is probably how we had the whole floor to ourselves, and our floor was the top floor and there's a rooftop area that had the cutest view.
It is so close to the West Lake as well, perfect for those that wants to stay somewhere that has everything but can't handle the city central like me (because the central is always bustling and full of travellers, makes me feel less like home).
What could be improved: Host replies a bit slow sometimes on text but most of the time should be fine if you just straight up call her.
Rice cooker was broken but someone came with a working one the next day.Philip from United Arab Emirates – 29 June 2024 (9/10)
Nice clean and modern apartments. Really helpful staff. Quiet area. The beds and sofa are quite hard but they were very helpful in changing the mattress for me.

An excellent place to stay if you don't want to be in the centre but still in walking distance of shops, eateries, etc. a lovely big space with everything you'd need to stay for a long (or short) period of time.
What could be improved: Location is a little off from description. There was a little confusion with finding the place which makes ordering grab taxis a little difficult also but once you know where you are and can navigate the small alleys, it's fine.John from United Kingdom – 10 December 2023 (9/10)
The place had good amenities and Huan was super friendly and helpful the whole time. He was great with helping to check in and everything too. WiFi also good.
What could be improved: The mattress is really uncomfortable but we spoke to the staff and they were able to provide an extra duvet for us to sleep on and this improved it a lot.Thi from Netherlands – 29 June 2023 (9/10)
