Honestly, when I first pulled up to Dodo Home AC on that narrow ngach off Ngõ 406, I wasn’t sure what to expect – you know how some of these tucked-away places in Tay Ho can be hit or miss. But this little spot actually surprised me in the best way. The entrance is easy to miss if you’re not paying attention (it’s literally down a small alley within an alley), but once you find it, you’ll get why it has that 8.7 rating.

What struck me right away was how quiet it gets once you’re inside, which is honestly pretty remarkable considering you’re still technically on the Âu Cơ corridor. The AC works properly – and I mean really works, not that half-hearted cooling you sometimes get in budget places. The rooms have this clean, minimalist vibe that feels more like staying at a friend’s well-organized apartment than a typical hotel. I spent a good chunk of time just sitting by the window watching the neighborhood come alive in the mornings, with motorbikes weaving through the ngõ and locals heading to the wet market nearby. You’re actually within walking distance of some solid local breakfast spots that most tourists never find – there’s this bánh mì lady about three minutes away who starts setting up around 6 AM and her sandwiches are ridiculous.

The location thing is interesting because you’re technically in Tay Ho but you’re in the more residential part, away from the weekend madness around Ho Tay itself. It takes maybe 10 minutes on a xe om to get to the lakefront restaurants, or you can walk it in about 20 if you don’t mind the exercise. What I really appreciated was having easy access to both the expat scene and authentic local life – you can grab craft beer and pizza when you want it, but you’re also surrounded by families who’ve lived in this neighborhood for decades. The staff here gets that balance too; they’re helpful without being overly formal, and a couple of them actually live in the area so they know which phở place is best on which day of the week. Sure, it’s not fancy in that marble-lobby sense, but the details work – good water pressure, reliable wifi, and they actually keep the common areas clean without making you feel like you can’t relax. For a 4-star place, it punches above its weight.

  Very nice and clean apartment. Exactly the same as on the pictures.
  We used the small kitchen for cooking and the rooftop has a beautiful view to the City.
  
  Close to bus Station from where it is easy to go to everywhere in the City.
  
  We will come back here when we stay in Hanoi next time!

  Lovely place to stay! Very comfortable apartment, clean and had everything we needed. The staff were super nice and helpful too!

  Spacious and clean, a comfortable bed (not hard, not soft), nice bathroom and shower. Lovely, helpful staff. Along the street there are lots of stalls selling fresh fruits and vegetables and other foods. There’s a Winmart and other shops just a minute’s walk away too.

  I booked two rooms, they were both clean, spacious and well decorated. The location on the north of the city provided quick access to the airport, had one winmart, market and a rice place in less than 1 minute walk.
  Also if you need an early wake up, then wonderful neighboring house workers would help you with that, they started their building demolishing works early in the morning around 5:30-6:30 am and our whole house was shaking like during an earthquake. Also their perforators sang like tropical birds… Size of an elephant. Made really nice duo with sledgehammers. Unfortunately they had a break from 11am to 1-2pm but then they proceeded their wonderful work till sunset.
  Also if you're a nostalgic type of person, then you would love the wifi speed. Reminded me of the days of USRobotics. Brought that chill atmosphere of 90s!
  Then we had a nice industrial style walk 10 minutes to the nearest coffee shop for a Vietnamese coffee or 15 minutes if we wanted a cappuccino. Good for health!

  The service was amazing. I liked everything. The host was pretty helpful. Best host I have ever had in my life. I checked in pretty late and he called someone to help. They also helped me pay the taxi I came with and paid for the food I ordered because I couldn't change the dollars I came with at the airport. I will recommend this apartment to anyone. It's pretty secured.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

  Clean comfortable room with everything you needed, including kitchen facilties, desk and balcony. Good price also.

  The room was comfortable as shown in the pictures. The host, Ken, was just a call away from anything we asked for. Len helped us keep our luggage for an extra day while we went to Cat Ba before staying here.
  The room was well equipped with everything you'll need. Overall a great stay!
  
  What could be improved: Google Map location doesnt work. But thats with whole of Vietnam while using Google Map.
  But the host, Ken was quick enough to send us directions with a video and an exact route map.

  Quiet area in a local neighborhood. You have a local market down the street with fresh food.
  The rooftop is beautiful at night.
  The room is big and the bed confortable.
  The manager is responsive and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: If you want to cook, the pan is not useable. There is no microwave.
