So I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Epic Tower on Duy Tan, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building itself is this sleek, modern tower that honestly looks more like luxury condos than a hotel, which actually makes sense once you get inside. Swiss-Belresidences basically took over one floor of this high-rise in Cau Giay, and you know what? It works really well.

The location is pretty smart if you ask me. Duy Tan street puts you right in that sweet spot between old Hanoi and the newer business district – you’re maybe 15 minutes from Hoan Kiem Lake by taxi, but you’re also walking distance to some excellent local spots that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible bun cha place just down the street that I stumbled across (honestly can’t remember the name, but it’s the one with the blue plastic stools), and Keangnam Tower is basically next door if you need that big city shopping fix. The area gets busy during rush hour – I mean really busy – but evenings are surprisingly quiet for being so central.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to make it feel like you’re staying in a proper apartment rather than just another hotel room. The serviced residence setup means you get a full kitchen, separate living area, and honestly more space than you’ll know what to do with. I was there during the rainy season last year and ended up cooking a few meals instead of getting soaked running around looking for food. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too – not just the scripted stuff, but actually knew the neighborhood and could point you toward the good coffee shops (there’s a hidden gem in the alley behind the building that does incredible egg coffee).

The rooms themselves are exactly what you’d expect from a 5-star place, though I’d say the view really depends on which side of the building you end up on. If you can swing it, ask for something facing west – you’ll get these amazing sunset views over the city that make the slightly higher rate worth it. The beds are proper comfortable, air conditioning actually works (which isn’t always a given in Hanoi), and the wifi is fast enough that I could work from there without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. Only minor gripe is that the elevators can be slow during peak times since you’re sharing with office workers and other residents in the building, but that’s pretty typical for these mixed-use towers.

Look, with an 8.7 rating, you’re not exactly taking a gamble here, but what makes this place special is that it doesn’t feel like every other international hotel chain. You get the reliability and service standards you want, but you’re actually staying in a real Hanoi neighborhood where people live and work. The price point is fair for what you get – especially if you’re staying more than a few days and want that extra space and kitchen setup. It’s the kind of place where you can settle in and actually experience the city rather than just passing through it.

  The rooms were amazing and super clean. Rooms were cleaned every day. staff were very helpful and supportive. Outstanding service. Services were better than the 5* hotels. Cleanliness is outstanding no doubt about it.
  
  What could be improved: You might find some minor issues like the toilet didn't have bidets and not many options for breakfast. But the food quality and quantity was very good and tasted amazing.
