Pullman Hanoi Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into the Pullman Hanoi, I wasn’t expecting much from another business hotel chain. But this place actually surprised me in ways that matter when you’re dealing with the beautiful chaos that is Hanoi.
The location is what really makes this work. You’re tucked away on Cat Linh Street (though honestly, most taxi drivers know it better by the Giang Vo entrance), which means you’re close enough to the action but far enough from the Old Quarter madness to actually sleep at night. I mean, if you’ve been to Hanoi, you know what I’m talking about – the motorbikes, the street vendors, the general wonderful insanity that never stops. Here, you get maybe a 15-minute grab ride to Hoan Kiem Lake, but your evenings aren’t soundtracked by honking horns. The nearby Lotte Tower area has some solid dining options too, which is handy when you don’t feel like navigating the street food scene every single meal.
What I really appreciated was how they handle the little things that can make or break a stay in Vietnam. The AC actually works properly – and quietly, which isn’t always a given. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived sweaty and slightly frazzled from the airport chaos. The rooms have that clean, modern feel without being sterile, and honestly, after walking around Hanoi’s humid streets all day, having a proper shower with good water pressure felt like luxury. The staff genuinely seems to know the city well too. When I asked about getting to the Temple of Literature without dealing with tourist traps, the concierge gave me actual useful directions and timing advice, not just a generic map printout. The breakfast spread is pretty international, which I know some people roll their eyes at, but sometimes you just want decent coffee and eggs that taste familiar before diving into a day of pho and banh mi adventures. They’ve got Vietnamese options too if you’re feeling more adventurous in the morning. The pool area is surprisingly peaceful – I ended up there a few evenings just decompressing, which isn’t something I usually do at hotels.
Is it perfect? Well, it’s got a 7.6 rating for a reason – it’s really good at being what it is, but it’s not going to blow your mind or become the highlight of your Vietnam stories. Some of the common areas feel a bit corporate, and the WiFi can get sluggish during peak hours. But you know what? For the price point and the fact that you can actually relax here while still being connected to everything Hanoi has to offer, it hits that sweet spot. If you’re the type who wants to experience the real Hanoi during the day but needs a reliable, comfortable base to retreat to, this place gets it right.

our room was superb, we had a huge bed – it was super king sized bed with comfortable pillows. we tried the buffet dinner, it was soooo yummy, with 40% discount. the free buffet breakfast provides good selection of food.
the bad side was the location or proximity to the shopping arcade and tourist areas. TIP: try grab taxi.
bonus side is the swimming pool, gym, sauna and steam room. i had great time exercising and relaxing.
