Era Apartment Đông Các Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “Era Apartment Đông Các,” I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit corporate, you know? But walking up to this place on Đông Các street, I was actually pleasantly surprised. It’s tucked into this really authentic part of Dong Da district, which honestly feels more like the “real” Hanoi than some of the touristy spots downtown. You’re literally surrounded by local life here – I mean, there’s a woman selling bánh mì from a tiny cart right at the corner every morning around 7 AM, and the coffee shop next door (which, by the way, makes incredible cà phê sữa đá) becomes this impromptu gathering spot for motorbike drivers taking their breaks.
The apartments themselves are surprisingly well-appointed for a 4-star place. I stayed in one of their one-bedroom units, and honestly, it felt more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel. The kitchen actually works – like, really works, not just for show – which was perfect since the Đông Xuân market is only about a 10-minute walk away. The building’s got this interesting mix of modern amenities but still retains some of that old Hanoi character in the hallways. One thing I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re in the middle of everything. The windows are well-insulated, so you don’t get that constant motorbike symphony that can drive you crazy in other parts of the city. Well, there’s still some street noise during the day, but that’s just Hanoi being Hanoi.
What really sold me on this place was the location – and I don’t mean that in some generic “convenient location” way. Đông Các street puts you right in this sweet spot where you can walk to the Temple of Literature in about 15 minutes (great for morning jogs, actually), but you’re also close enough to the Old Quarter that a quick Grab ride costs maybe 30,000 dong. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood – when I asked about finding a good tailoring shop, the front desk guy didn’t just point me to some tourist trap, but gave me directions to this family-run place three blocks away where locals go. That kind of local knowledge makes a difference. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me because while it’s not luxury-level pampering, it delivers exactly what you need: comfortable space, reliable wifi (important if you’re working remotely), and that feeling of actually living in Hanoi rather than just visiting it. Plus, parking a motorbike here is straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Hanoi’s parking situation will appreciate.

What could be improved: No one messaged me back for ages so was unsure if I would be able to check in.

The room is clean and quite lovely, you got almost everything but not the television, it's just somehow pretty funny.
Anyway, the location is perfect if you wanna buy a lot of nice, young clothes.
What could be improved: 11 AM CLOSED, 6:00 AM OPEN. SHOULD GIVE THIS PUBLIC TO CUSTOMERS.
BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT. THE SECURITY IS FRIENDLY BUT HMMM, PRETTY GOSSIP.
