Fraser Suites Hanoi Overview

You know what struck me first about Fraser Suites Hanoi? The lobby actually feels like someone’s really elegant living room – not that sterile hotel vibe you get at most places. It’s tucked away on Xuan Dieu Street in Tay Ho, which honestly is one of those addresses that makes locals nod approvingly when you mention it. The whole Quang An area has this laid-back expat community feel, and Fraser Suites fits right into that without trying too hard. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk to West Lake, which sounds touristy but is actually where half of Hanoi goes to decompress on weekends. The street itself is lined with these fantastic little cafes and restaurants that haven’t made it into guidebooks yet – the kind of spots where you’ll find yourself becoming a regular if you stay more than a few days.

The suites themselves are… well, they’re proper suites, not those hotel rooms where they shove a couch in the corner and call it a day. We’re talking separate living areas with kitchenettes that you’d actually use (the grocery stores around there are pretty decent, by the way). The bedrooms feel residential in the best way – like someone put thought into where you’d actually want to plug in your phone or how the bathroom lighting hits your face in the morning. What really sold me was the attention to details that matter when you’re living somewhere, not just passing through. The washing machines are full-sized, the internet is genuinely fast (tested it during a video call with colleagues back home), and somehow they’ve managed soundproofing that actually works – which is no small feat in Hanoi, trust me. The staff has this relaxed professionalism that matches the neighborhood perfectly; they’ll help you figure out the best route to avoid traffic, but they’re not hovering around trying to upsell you on tours every five minutes.

Honestly, staying here felt more like borrowing a friend’s really nice apartment than doing the hotel thing. The pool area up top gives you these glimpses of the lake through the trees – it’s not a dramatic panoramic view or anything, but it’s peaceful in a way that makes you want to actually spend time there instead of just taking a quick photo. Location-wise, you’re close enough to the Old Quarter that a taxi ride won’t break the bank, but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night without motorbikes honking under your window at 2 AM. The whole Tay Ho district has this interesting mix of local Vietnamese life and international residents, so you get authentic street food vendors right next to wine bars that wouldn’t be out of place in Melbourne or Brooklyn. If you’re the type who likes to feel like you’re experiencing a city rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right.

Reviews of Fraser Suites Hanoi

  • Stephanie from Singapore – 27 May 2025 (9/10)

The swimming pools were great although a bit cold. Great for young children. We also liked that it has a small kids club that was perfect for entertaining young children (we have a 2.5yo). Staff was always very accommodating and very quick to answer questions. Would definitely recommend this place to families with young children.

What could be improved: The entrance to the hotel was a bit tricky to find. Better signage to the different entrances should be considered.

  • Katharine from United Kingdom – 16 May 2025 (10/10)

We loved the exceptional levels of comfort and helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. The location was great, with plenty of good food options in the neighbourhood and only a short taxi ride into the centre of Hanoi. It was the perfect base for our holiday.

  • Gladys from Australia – 5 May 2025 (10/10)

Restaurant food very good. Great location – near the Old Quarter . Great swimming pool, sauna and gym. Supermarket beside hotel.

    What could be improved: Nil

  • Christine from United Kingdom – 24 April 2025 (10/10)

Spacious, comfortable suites with a lovely roof top pool and bar with views over West Lake.

What could be improved: No coffee for Nespresso.

  • Sarah from Australia – 22 April 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was spacious and clean! The breakfast and lunch we ordered by the pool were high quality. Reception staff handled all our requests to a high standard. Beds were comfortable, pool was shady and cool.

What could be improved: Minor things only. We checked in as a 6. Needed to ask for an extra towel which is always frustrating when paying for 6. Every other time room was made up we were short towels. My only other suggestion is, a bigger lounge or additional armchair. Lounge did not accomodate 6 people after huge days in Hanoi & needing to relax. As I said – very tiny inconveniences, everthing else was fab!

  • Caroline from Luxembourg – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

I had an incredible stay at this hotel—everything from the warm hospitality to the beautifully designed rooms exceeded my expectations. The staff were attentive and genuinely welcoming, the location was perfect, and the amenities made it feel like a true getaway. The food was top-notch, and the overall ambiance was both relaxing and refined.

What could be improved: That said, there were two minor drawbacks worth mentioning. First, the internet connection was quite weak, which made it difficult to stay connected when needed.
Secondly, it’s a pity that children above a certain age aren’t allowed to use the rooftop swimming pool. It’s a beautiful space, and it would have been lovely for families to enjoy it together.

  • Alhell from United Arab Emirates – 11 April 2025 (10/10)

Thank you team for the great experience i really enjoyed it . Will surely stay here again

  • Sammo from Taiwan – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

Kids were allergic to something in the living room sofa.

  • Nathan from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely everything was perfect. The staff, the facilities, the room, we don’t have a single complaint. We sadly couldn’t use the pools provided as the weather was awful during our stay, but they looked lovely, clean & well maintained. The gym was more than satisfactory & never too busy.

The little shop on the floor of building B was amazing; stocked with everything we could need & very convenient.

Room service was affordable, quick & tasty – especially the Lava cake.

Our suite was absolutely everything we could want & more; amazing TV, comfy sofa, comfy bed & pillows, amazing bathroom (rainfall shower & bathtub, heated toilet) and even a washer/dryer machine. As a couple who have been travelling for 3 months, this was an amazing touch. Even when the drying element stopped working, the team at Fraser Suites replaced the entire machine within an hour. Faultless service and 10/10 experience. Wish we could have stayed longer.

What could be improved: Quite literally nothing. It was perfect.
