You know what struck me first about Fusion Gates? It’s tucked away on Hong Phuc Street in Ba Dinh, which honestly is one of those spots where you feel like you’ve found Hanoi’s best-kept secret. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Presidential Palace area, but the street itself has this quiet residential vibe that most tourists never discover. The building looks modern enough from the outside – nothing too flashy, but you can tell it’s well-maintained.

The apartment-style setup is actually perfect if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights. I loved having a proper kitchenette because, let’s face it, as amazing as Vietnamese street food is, sometimes you just want to make coffee the way you like it or store some fruit from the market. The space feels bigger than typical Hanoi accommodations too – you’re not bumping into furniture every time you open your suitcase. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re in the heart of the city. The windows must be decent quality because the usual motorbike symphony gets muffled pretty well.

The location thing is huge here, but not in the obvious touristy way. Sure, you can walk to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum area easily, but what I really appreciated was being close to actual neighborhood life. There’s this fantastic bun cha spot about two blocks down that locals frequent – no English menu, just point and smile. The nearby Hang Da Market is where you’ll see grandmothers shopping for dinner ingredients, not souvenir shopping. And honestly, being in Ba Dinh means you’re close to some of Hanoi’s better coffee culture without the Old Quarter crowds. That 9-star rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting authentic local access plus modern comfort. The management actually responds quickly too – I had a minor issue with the air conditioning remote and someone was up within twenty minutes. It’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s smart, clean, and positioned perfectly for people who want to experience Hanoi like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through.

  Location was good. Walking distance to most shops. The apartment was clean. Although there was no aircon in the bedroom, only a standing fan, it was not warm. The owner Ha Trung was very responsive. He replied to messages fast, helped us booked a car back to the airport on the last day & allowed us to leave our luggage after we check out cause we had an evening flight. The place was busy, noisy in the day & quiet at night.

  A great location on the edge of the old town between the lakes, with the major sites within walking distance. The neighbourhood has a great vibe and the street is relatively quiet. The apartment is spacious and nicely furnished to a high standard, with high quality air-con and a comfortable bed. The host is welcoming, proactive and responsive, and I appreciated the flexibility of self check-in.

  Fabulous property with everything you’d need for both a short and long stay. We found it particularly useful that there was a washing machine in the room as laundrettes aren’t very available in the area, or even in Vietnam as a whole. The bedroom is cosy and has a comfortable bed, alongside ample storage for clothes and bags in the built in wardrobes. The bathroom is also very functional and the bath is an added luxury. The property is also pretty well soundproofed.
  
  It is about a 15 minute walk from the old quarter and taxis are able to drive down the street pretty easily.
  
  The only small things that I would change would be:
  * Add hand towels to the kitchen and bathroom
  * Could do with a clothes airer.
  * Add a covering to the bathroom as flies are able to get through the vent thing.

  Clean, comfortable and quiet apartment with plenty of space, full amenaties, great bed and a nice balcony overlooking an active neighborhood street. 10 minute walk to the Old Quarter area in a less touristy area of town which for us is a big plus! Great communication.
  
  What could be improved: Initial lobby entry keypad was a bit tricky for us but the magnetic entry card worked flawlessly.

  Host is very helpful. Help me arrange for tours and gave decent price. Place is at slightly outskirt of old quarter. near enough to most attractions, yet not too noisy. It is easy to grab bike anywhere. Place is a lot cleaner than expected. Provides detergent for washing machine too. Which is great because I underestimated how… hot Hanoi was. Would stay again.
  
  What could be improved: As some have mentioned, the AC is on the other side of the room to the bed. So even switching to max, it takes awhile to cool the bed area. If you like to sleep really really cold, not for you. Also there were some dead spots for phone reception in the room, but probably just my own carrier. Wi-fi is provided in the room tho, so only sms and calls might be affected. But overall not much of an issue to me.

  Wonderful apartment, very new, everything is clean. Very pleasant and comfortable. We enjoyed spending a few days here and would happily return.
  
  Very pleasant and responsive staff. Definitely recommend, one of the best places in Hanoi. Nearby is a Michelin-rated restaurant as a nice bonus!
