Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and honestly? The Hanoi Allure Hotel caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know that feeling when a place just gets it right without trying too hard? That’s this spot. It sits right on Dao Duy Tu street – and if you don’t know this little stretch, you’re missing out. It’s tucked away enough that you won’t get the motorbike chaos at 6 AM (trust me on this one), but you’re literally a three-minute walk from the weekend night market madness around Dong Xuan.

The thing that struck me first was actually the lobby – it’s got this warm, almost residential feel that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel.” The staff genuinely seemed to remember my name after day one, which… I mean, maybe it’s because I’m terrible with Vietnamese pronunciation and they found it amusing, but still. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star, though I’ll be honest, the shower pressure was better than some five-star places I’ve crashed at in Ho Chi Minh City. What really won me over was the attention to small stuff – there’s decent coffee in the room (not that instant nonsense), and the AC actually gets quiet enough at night that you can sleep with the windows closed. You’ll want to keep them closed anyway because even though Dao Duy Tu is relatively calm, you’re still in Hanoi, and the city wakes up early.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location gives you options. You can walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in about eight minutes if you want the touristy evening stroll thing, but you’re also close enough to some genuinely good local spots that most visitors never find. There’s this little pho place two blocks down that opens at 6 AM and closes when they run out – usually by 10. The hotel folks actually told me about it, which tells you something about how they think about their neighborhood. Parking isn’t really a thing if you’re driving (but honestly, why would you drive in Old Quarter?), though they sorted out our airport transfer without the usual runaround. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, but it nails the fundamentals while actually understanding what travelers need. You get the Old Quarter experience without feeling like you’re camping, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want.

  Convenient location right in the heart and thick of things in old quarter but surprisingly sound insulated once inside hotel room it wasn’t noisy at all
  
  The 2 things that I can give a heads up pn, beds are firm.. so keep that in mind . Second the room I was in the shower caulking on the door was falling off so water would leak a little

  Extremely friendly staff. Charged us fairly for arriving at 6am and relieved that room was made available after overnight flight. Beautifully clean with friendly staff. Any issues addressed immediately. Unbelievable location, central yet not noisy.

  Great location. Spacious room that was spotlessly clean. Nice breakfast options. The staff were exceptional. Jenny and Justin were very helpful anf my communication with Jenny prior to arrival was great. I was ill during our stay and they were very concerned. One staff member I met in the lift bought me hot ginger tea ☺️🙏
