I mean, when you first pull up to the Vinhomes Ocean Park complex in Gia Lam, you’re driving through these wide boulevards lined with high-rise apartments and manicured green spaces – it’s honestly pretty impressive, though it takes a minute to find the actual hotel entrance among all the residential towers.

The QMP management has done something smart here. Instead of fighting the fact that you’re essentially staying in the middle of a planned community, they’ve leaned into it. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that matches the overall aesthetic of the development, and the staff genuinely seems to know their way around the entire complex – which is helpful because there’s more here than you’d expect. The hotel sits right next to the artificial beach area (yeah, they built a beach in Hanoi, and it’s actually quite nice), plus there are walking paths, cafes, and even a decent-sized shopping area all within the development. It’s like staying in a self-contained little world about 30 minutes from central Hanoi.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being surrounded by all those apartment buildings might mean noise, but the sound planning is solid. The rooms themselves are well-appointed – nothing revolutionary, but the beds are comfortable, the AC works properly (crucial in Hanoi’s humidity), and the bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into everything. The view depends on which side you get, but honestly, even the courtyard views aren’t bad because the landscaping throughout the complex is pretty thoughtful.

Here’s the thing though – if you’re the type who wants to step out of your hotel and immediately be in the thick of old Hanoi’s chaos and charm, this might feel a bit removed. Getting to the Old Quarter or downtown requires a taxi or Grab ride, and while it’s not expensive, it’s definitely something to factor in. But if you’re looking for a base that’s modern, clean, and gives you some breathing room from the city’s intensity while still keeping you connected, it hits that sweet spot. The whole Ocean Park development is popular with young Vietnamese families, so there’s this nice energy during weekends especially – kids on bikes, people jogging, that sort of community feel you don’t always get at hotels. Plus, having actual grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance means you can live a bit more like a local if you’re staying for more than just a couple nights.

  Было очень чисто, кондиционер дул теплым, в январе холодный сезон был.
  
  What could be improved: Расположение далеко от центра, но это и хорошо. Ocean Park оправдал мои ожидания, рядом и ТЦ и прогулочный парк
  Ремонт квартиры слегка испортилось, но чистота и уют закрывает все эти детали.

  We stayed for 10 nights, the apartment was on 23rd floor in a residential area (Ocean park) with a very large construction site outside. The apartment was clean and modern. There were convenience stores all over but not much else.
  
  What could be improved: It was a good 30min taxi (grab) in to Hanoi old quarter (£4) and about 45 mins from the airport (£14).
  The bed was extremely hard but strangely comfortable.

  Spacious 3 bedroom apartment at high floor. Convenient store right down stairs
  
  What could be improved: One of the two heaters does not work. Not enough bath towels even though we booked for 6 persons staying. No bath mat so the floor is all wet after shower. Microwave missing the spinning plate and looks quite dirty. Can see a lot of wear and tear / lack maintenance.

  部屋借りのような感じで、チェックイン／アウト以外はスタッフの方に会うことはありませんでしたが、質問があればLINEで英語で答えてくれました。周りにレストランや公園が多く、家族で楽しめました。
  
  What could be improved: プールが平日午前は使えないようなのですが、その説明が初めにあればよかったです。また、チェックアウト後に備品が足りないと連絡があり、結局スタッフの方の勘違いでしたが、最初に部屋の写真を撮っておくと安心かと思います。
