Here’s the thing about staying in Hoan Kiem district – you’re going to walk everywhere, and this spot makes that easy. Turn left and you’re heading toward St. Joseph’s Cathedral and all those narrow streets packed with local eateries. Turn right and you’re at the lake for your morning coffee watching locals do tai chi. The hotel staff actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places just hand you a generic tourist map. They pointed me toward this tiny bun cha place on a side street that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth too – no drama with early arrival, and they held luggage without making it feel like a huge favor. The 8.1 rating feels about right, honestly. It’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted easy access to both the Old Quarter’s energy and a quiet retreat when the city gets overwhelming.

  I found the room absolutely charming, perfectly balancing funky, classy, and sophisticated touches in its interior design. Thoughtfully chosen furniture elevated the space in the best possible way, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
  
  The location was central yet quiet, away from the bustle of the Old Quarter on the opposite side of the lake, while still being conveniently close to everything – from restaurants to all the city’s sights.
  
  The breakfast buffet, though compact, offered sufficient options, and the kind staff was always ready to enhance it with anything you felt was missing. The fresh fruits were especially delicious!
  
  Overall, I loved the style of this little hotel, with its colorful illustrations adorning the walls, adding a fun and playful touch.

  Amazing staff!!! and a very nicely decorated room. The minibar has good prices on water and the hotel can book a luxurious taxi to the airport for barely any money at all. Will stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: The shower drain clogged easily, and the water from the shower quickly spread in the entire bathroom.

  Loved how it was close enough to old quarter and the lake, however it was on a quieter street. There were lifts up to the rooms, and the shower was semi separated by glass to prevent the toilet from being wet.
  
  What could be improved: I didn’t like how the shower was on the wrong side of the bathroom. You had to walk through the wet shower to get to the toilet.
  The fridge didn’t get cold enough and the water pressure was too light and would either be too hot or too cold.

  The Elpis has a very friendly, helpful and well informed staff. The location is excellent close to most attractions in the old quarter. Breakfast was a treat lovely fresh fruit as well as more traditional fair.

  What could be improved: The AC wasn’t super powerful and the elevator up to the 5th floor had a strong smell to rid of mosquitos but those are small details! If you cannot go upstairs, this place is not accessible as the elevator begins after a stairwell up the first floor
