Hanoi Golden Lotus Aman Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Hanoi Golden Lotus Aman? Walking into that lobby after navigating the organized chaos of Hàng Gà street – it’s like stepping through a portal. I mean, one second you’re dodging motorbikes and street food vendors (which, honestly, is half the fun of being in the Old Quarter), and the next you’re in this surprisingly serene space with actual breathing room. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests, not just going through the motions, and check-in was refreshingly quick. No standing around while they “find your reservation” like some places.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant if you want to experience real Hanoi without completely sacrificing comfort. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Hoàn Kiếm Lake – and I’m talking an actual two minutes, not travel-website-exaggeration time. Morning joggers and tai chi practitioners gather there around 6 AM if you’re into that scene, or you can just grab a Vietnamese coffee from one of the tiny sidewalk stalls and people-watch. The weekend night market spreads out just a few blocks away, and you’ll hear the gentle hum of evening activity without the rooms being overly noisy (though you’ll definitely know you’re in a living, breathing city). What I really appreciated was how the hotel sits on one of those classic narrow Old Quarter streets – you get the authentic maze-like feel, but it’s not on one of the main tourist drags where tour groups cluster. The building itself has this sort of modern-meets-traditional thing going on that actually works, unlike some places that try too hard.
Honestly, after staying at a few different spots around Hanoi, this one hits that sweet spot between being comfortable enough for parents to visit (good water pressure, reliable AC, decent breakfast spread) but still feeling connected to the city’s rhythm. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is the Old Quarter, space is premium – but they’re thoughtfully laid out and you’re not here to hang out in your room anyway. The 8.7 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Hanoi, but it nails what most travelers actually want: clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who seem to care. Plus, and this might sound minor but it matters when you’re jet-lagged, the elevators are reliable and the WiFi actually works throughout the building. Sometimes it’s those little things that make or break a stay, you know?

Reviews of Hanoi Golden Lotus Aman Hotel

We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was notably clean and well-kept, and the amenities were a nice touch. The staff demonstrated excellent communication and thoughtfulness concerning our plans. They were very helpful in recommending local restaurants, attractions, and transportation options. The breakfast buffet was quite good and offered a delicious variety. The location is right in the center of Old Quarter, which is a huge convenience. We'll definitely stay again next time we visit Ha Noi.
What could be improved: I wish the room would have a small desk with a chair. It's tough to incorporate working while traveling.Marley from Vietnam – 19 May 2025 (9/10)
The facility was clean and the pictures were accurate. Lots of bookings I see are older pictures of facilities where everything is brand new. This one was true to the pictures and everything was clean for me.
I forgot to take pictures to add of the facilities. My bad..
I enjoyed the wooden touches that gave it a natural feel but with modern additions to keep air condition inside the building.Chloe from France – 12 May 2025 (9/10)
I love everything about this hotel. The manager Chloe and all staff was very helpfull even since before I arrived. The room is cleaning. I booked the room with balcony but the sound of crowd outside never bothering us while stay hêre. The location in middle Old Quarter so it's near to go everywhere. If i come to Hanoi again, I will stay here again for sure.
What could be improved: No. Everything just great.Gerard from Philippines – 30 April 2025 (8/10)
It was in a good location and the size of the room was bigger than I expected it to be.
What could be improved: The elevator serves as a bridge between two hallways. The hallways were smaller than I expected.Roger from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

Friendly and helpful staff. The location is good and you can walk to places of attraction from there. There is one halal kebab place nearby for our muslim friends.

The staff were friendly, kind, and so accommodating. We stayed until January 1st and the night before we left, they wrote us a letter sending us their best wishes for the new year with candy and a keychain included. We also appreciated the central location and how cute the hotel is.
What could be improved: It’s a bit cramped in the rooms but if you’re only using it to sleep and out all day, it’s perfect.Markus from Germany – 2 December 2024 (9/10)
friendly staff, nice room
What could be improved: not a single spot to sit outside for a cigarette and very busy street
