Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Hanoi, and Hanoi Home 2 just gets it right in ways that surprised me. It’s tucked away on Vũ Miên street in Tay Ho – you know, that expat-heavy area that somehow manages to feel both local and international at the same time. The first thing that hits you isn’t actually the lake view (though we’ll get to that), it’s how quiet it is. I mean, you’re still in Hanoi so there’s always going to be some motorbike symphony happening, but this little pocket near West Lake has this almost village-like calm that you don’t expect.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there – not in a messy way, but in that “real furniture, proper lighting, decent coffee setup” way that makes you want to stay longer than planned. The lake view they mention? Honestly, it’s better than I expected. You get these glimpses of West Lake through the urban landscape, especially nice in the early morning when the mist is still hanging around and you can see people doing tai chi along the shoreline. The whole Tay Ho district has this rhythm to it – quiet mornings, bustling afternoons when the local markets get going, then this lovely wind-down period around sunset when everyone’s walking or cycling around the lake. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to those little lakeside cafes (you know the ones with the plastic stools and the best iced coffee) without dealing with the Old Quarter chaos. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Old Quarter, but sometimes you need to breathe.

The practical stuff matters too – check-in was actually smooth, which isn’t always a given with apartment-style places. The building’s well-maintained, and you’ve got decent neighbors who aren’t throwing parties every night. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re renting a motorbike, but there’s usually space on the street, and honestly, this area is perfect for just walking everywhere anyway. The local market on Vũ Miên is maybe a five-minute walk, and you’ll find better produce prices than in the tourist areas. Plus, you’re close enough to the action when you want it – quick grab taxi to the Old Quarter runs about 50,000 dong – but far enough away that you can actually sleep at night. For the price point and that 8.5 rating, it makes sense. It’s not trying to be fancy, just comfortable and genuine, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a feel for how Hanoians actually live.

  I enjoyed my stay here. First of all, here's got elevator from the ground. Secondly, this place is well located, as well as with a lovely view. Moreover, it's got a washing machine and a dryer which fits for the traveller who plans staying longer.

  I like everything about this place. The location is quiet from the busy Hanoi. The room .bed and pillows are comfortable . David alwaya responds and help you to make sure everything is good. Taxi service drop off and pick up was so smooth. You have to pay in cash for taxi and room. So better you get the money from Atm at the airport .
  And they have good hot shower. Cafes and restaurants all around. You can call grab bike to go to old quarter within 10 or 15 mins ride. I will come back and stay again. Ps the view from the room is phenomenal .

  I highly recommend Hanoi Home 2. Excellent location with a lovely view of the lake, and very comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. The owner/landlord was very accommodating and helpful.
