Hanoi Liliane Hotel and Travel Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Hanoi Liliane Hotel and Travel, you immediately get that feeling of stumbling onto something good that the guidebooks haven’t ruined yet. It’s tucked right into the maze of streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star place punch way above its weight. The lobby isn’t trying too hard to impress — just clean, welcoming, and staffed by people who actually seem to care about helping you figure out this incredible city.

Location Magic

Here’s the thing about staying on Thuoc Bac Street — you’re literally in the heart of everything that makes Hanoi special, but you’re not on one of those tourist-packed main drags where you can’t move for selfie sticks. Step outside and you’re surrounded by the real Old Quarter energy: motorbikes weaving through narrow alleys, street food vendors setting up their tiny plastic stools, and that constant hum of city life that somehow becomes the best white noise machine you’ve ever had. The couples who stay here get it — there’s something romantic about being able to walk to Hoan Kiem Lake in five minutes, then duck into a hidden pho joint that locals actually frequent.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you want from a well-run three-star in Vietnam — spotlessly clean, air conditioning that actually works (trust me, this matters), and a comfortable bed after long days of exploring. The bathrooms are compact but functional, with hot water that doesn’t quit halfway through your shower. You’re not getting marble countertops or fancy amenities, but everything works properly, and the housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work. The windows open onto the street life below, which means you get the full Hanoi soundtrack — I actually loved falling asleep to the distant sounds of the night market winding down.

Breakfast and Getting Around

The breakfast spread surprised me in the best way — they’ve got this mix of Vietnamese classics alongside Western options that actually taste good, not like sad hotel buffet food. You can grab traditional pho or bánh mì, or stick with eggs and toast if you’re playing it safe. What I really appreciated was the “breakfast to go” option when I had an early day trip planned. The travel desk downstairs isn’t just for show either — they helped me sort out a Ha Long Bay tour that didn’t feel like a cattle drive, and their local recommendations were spot-on.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but it gets the fundamentals so right that you’ll find yourself recommending it to other travelers. The staff genuinely wants you to have a good time in their city, the location puts you right where you want to be without the chaos of the main tourist strips, and everything just works the way it should. For the price point, you’re getting incredible value — especially when you factor in being able to walk to most of Hanoi’s must-see spots. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a little secret, even though plenty of smart travelers have clearly figured it out already.

Apartments in Hanoi suit remote workers with airy lofts, cowork terraces, and quick access to specialty coffee.

Reviews of Hanoi Liliane Hotel and Travel

  • Tomioka from Japan – 4 May 2025 (8/10)

    The shops are near.

    What could be improved: None.

  • Rory from United Kingdom – 3 May 2025 (9/10)

Very nice room, staff were lovely, breakfast was great and the location is very convenient for walking around the old quarter. The staff looked after our bags for us so we could walk around the city after we checked out as we were catching a bus later in the afternoon, which was really helpful! Highly recommend 🙂

What could be improved: We did almost miss the entrance as we first walked past, so maybe a bigger sign on the street would be helpful! Other than that, we loved everything!

  • Candice from South Africa – 8 April 2025 (9/10)

The staff are amazingly friendly and kind, they really go out of their way to help you. The location is great with the bonus being that it's on a quiet street, yet it's a walkable distance from the Hanoi weekend market, restaurants and night life.

What could be improved: I have no complaints 🙂

  • Stephen from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (9/10)

I stayed here for 4 nights to explore the city, what a brilliant hotel. Central location in the maze of streets that make up Old Hanoi which means everywhere is walkable. I arrived early and, after being given a free breakfast, I was given the use of another room (for a small charge) to freshen up and sleep for a few hours until my room was available. Breakfast choice is good with various eggs, toast, fruit, cereal etc on offer. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and any request is answered with a smile. I wholeheartedly recommend this little oasis of peace in a busy city to anyone planning on visiting Hanoi. If I'm ever back in Hanoi, this will be the place I stay! Thank you to all the staff for a great stay.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Lucinda from Austria – 30 March 2025 (8/10)

Location was excellent – perfect for everywhere we wanted to visit in Hanoi over our short stay. The staff were attentive and helpful. We took a room with a balcony which overlooks a street and so it could be quite loud but it didn’t bother us too much. For people sensitive to noise, I’d suggest taking a room on the inside with an internal window. Overall it was exactly what we needed for this city visit.

What could be improved: Breakfast was adequate and there were a few options which can be ordered additionally. Overall it could be improved slightly but it was perfectly fine for our needs.

Best choice for breakfast in our entire 6 weeks visit to Vietnam. Very thoughtful to have tea and coffee available for free at all times. Very helpful staff and very convenient location.

  • Anyplaceadventures from Australia – 8 March 2025 (9/10)

The minute you walk through the door, you leave the hustle and bustle of the streets behind. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms are clean and comfortable. Good hot shower. Very quiet. Tasty breakfast. Local tours are easily arranged, as are those further afield.24 hour complimentary tea and coffee available. We booked 1 night and are staying 1 week.
