Hanoi Plaza Suite Hotel & Spa Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Hanoi Plaza Suite Hotel & Spa? It’s tucked away on this narrow street called Đào Duy Từ, literally a three-minute walk from Hoan Kiem Lake, but it feels like you’ve stepped into this quiet bubble away from the motorbike chaos. I mean, you’re still in the heart of the Old Quarter – you can hear the distant hum of traffic and street vendors – but the noise just kind of… stops when you walk through their doors.
The lobby has this warm, modern Vietnamese vibe going on (not the overly polished chain hotel feel you sometimes get), and honestly, the staff seem to actually remember your name after day one, which is rare for a place this size. The suites are what really got me though – they’re properly spacious, not just “Asian spacious” if you know what I mean. Big windows that actually open, which I always appreciate because hotel AC can be hit or miss in Hanoi’s humidity. The spa on the upper floors is legit too; I went for a massage after spending the day wandering around the Temple of Literature area and my shoulders actually felt human again. They use these local oils that smell like lemongrass and something I couldn’t quite place – maybe galangal?
What I really loved is how the hotel sits right in that sweet spot where you can walk to everything that matters. Ngọc Sơn Temple is basically around the corner, the weekend night market is a five-minute stroll, and – this is key – you’re close enough to the lake to do that early morning thing where locals do tai chi at sunrise (totally worth setting an alarm for, by the way). The restaurant downstairs does a solid pho bo if you’re not ready to brave the street stalls yet, though honestly, once you get comfortable with Hanoi’s food scene, you’ll probably end up eating most meals outside anyway. One small thing – the elevator can be a bit slow during peak hours, but I just started taking the stairs and discovered they have these cool Vietnamese art pieces on each landing that I would’ve missed otherwise. With a 9.4 rating, you’d expect it to be perfect, and while it’s not some luxury resort, it’s exactly what you want in Hanoi: comfortable, authentic, and positioned so you can actually experience the city instead of being stuck in some tourist bubble across town.

My stay at Hanoi Plaza Hotel was truly enjoyable. The hotel is located in a convenient area of Hanoi, close to many tourist attractions, restaurants, and local markets. It’s a great base for exploring the city.
The staff were very friendly, polite, and always ready to help .. special thanks to Julie for her excellent service.
The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with everything I needed.
Overall, Hanoi Plaza Hotel offers great value for money.
What could be improved: Breakfast on the top floor was pleasant, but the variety was limited.
