Hanoi Vacanza Premier Hotel Overview
Honestly, when I first walked into the Hanoi Vacanza Premier on Hang Vai street, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s tucked into this narrow Old Quarter alley where motorbikes barely squeeze past each other. But you know what? Sometimes the best places hide in plain sight. The lobby actually surprised me with its modern Vietnamese aesthetic, sort of like someone took traditional lacquered wood and gave it a contemporary twist without trying too hard.
The location is what really makes this place work, though. You’re literally in the heart of the Old Quarter chaos – and I mean that in the best way possible. Step outside and you’re immediately hit with that intoxicating mix of pho broth steam, incense from the nearby temples, and exhaust fumes (welcome to Hanoi, right?). Hang Bo street is just around the corner, which locals know is where you get the real street food, not the touristy stuff on Ta Hien. The famous Bia Hoi Corner is maybe a three-minute walk, perfect for those tiny plastic stools and cheap beer sessions that somehow turn into the best nights of your trip. What I really appreciated was how the hotel staff – and they genuinely seem to know their stuff – would casually mention which alleys to avoid during rush hour or where to find the best bun cha that isn’t overrun with tour groups.
The rooms themselves are surprisingly quiet considering you’re surrounded by the Old Quarter’s beautiful madness. They’ve done something clever with the soundproofing because while you can still hear the city humming below (which honestly adds to the charm), you won’t be kept awake by every motorbike backfire at 2am. The beds are actually comfortable – not just “good for Asia” comfortable, but legitimately restful. Air conditioning works well too, which matters more than you’d think during those sticky summer months when Hanoi feels like a sauna. Check-in was smooth, no weird deposit demands or passport-holding nonsense some places still pull. The staff spoke solid English and seemed genuinely happy to help rather than just going through the motions. One thing though – the elevator is tiny, so if you’re traveling with massive suitcases, well, embrace the stairs as part of your Vietnamese adventure. That 8.9 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting legitimate 4-star comfort in one of the most atmospheric neighborhoods in Southeast Asia, without paying those ridiculous heritage hotel prices that make your wallet cry.

The staff were lovely and accommodating. Loved the room with the balcony where we could watch the world go by, the room was also a good size with a comfortable bed.
Sarah from United States – 27 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything was good including breakfast, cleanliness, staffs, location and price. I really liked my balcony room. It was clean compared to other hotels in Hanoi old quarter. Overall, I have no compliants about the hotels at all. All the staffs were nice.
What could be improved: We requested the interconnected room with balcony and window. One room had balcony and the other that was interconnected had to have not much window since it was right behind it. I just felt bad for my travel mates that had to stay there. That was the sacrifice we had to make.Lindee from Australia – 18 February 2025 (9/10)
Comfortable.
Anne from United States – 1 February 2025 (9/10)
Great location—can’t be beat! Clean rooms and bathrooms, great breakfast! The rooms were quiet and soundproof enough for being in the middle of a city. The staff was very helpful, they assisted us with our airport transfers and a few other questions. They even packed us a takeout bag for breakfast for our early flight.
What could be improved: Nothing, really. Met my expectations for a property of this type (2-3 stars level).Brendon from United States – 30 November 2024 (9/10)

The hotel is wonderful. The rooms are comfortable and very nice. The breakfast is amazing. We had booked only one night originally, but we wanted to stay two more nights so we liked the hotel. I would especially like to thank Lucy for her kindness and tourist advice. I would also like to thank Daniel for the beautiful photos he took at breakfast and for his quality service.
