You know what struck me first about this place? The name doesn’t lie – the natural light is absolutely incredible. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of apartments around Hanoi where you’re lucky to get a sliver of sunlight, but these suites on Nguyen Khuyen actually feel bright and airy from the moment you walk in. The whole space opens up beautifully, and honestly, it’s rare to find that kind of openness in the city center without paying through the nose.

The location is pretty smart too – tucked into that little alley off Nguyen Khuyen Street, which means you’re right in the heart of Dong Da but not dealing with the constant motorbike chaos of the main road. I actually loved this setup because you can walk to the weekend night market in about ten minutes, grab incredible pho at those tiny spots locals hit up (there’s this one place with plastic stools that’s always packed – you’ll know it when you see it), but then come back to actual quiet. The projector setup is genius for rainy evenings, and trust me, if you’re visiting during monsoon season, you’ll appreciate having that entertainment sorted. The screen quality surprised me – way better than I expected from an apartment rental.

What really sold me on the place was how spacious everything feels. Two proper bedrooms, not those cramped hotel-style boxes, and the living area actually gives you room to spread out. I ended up working from there several mornings (the wifi holds up well, which isn’t always guaranteed in this part of town), and it felt more like borrowing a friend’s apartment than staying somewhere temporary. The kitchen setup lets you grab fresh ingredients from the local market – it’s about a five-minute walk and honestly one of the best ways to experience the neighborhood. Fair warning though: the building can get a bit echo-y in the stairwell, but once you’re inside with the door closed, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The 9.6 rating makes complete sense when you factor in the space, the light, and that perfect balance of being central but not overwhelmed by tourist crowds. It’s the kind of place where you might actually want to hang out rather than just crash between sightseeing.

  Lovely and clean apartment, 5 min walk to Temple of Literature. Many food options nearby.

  We see photos of apartments on the website and never expect them to be exactly the same. But, this apartment was excellent and the attached the photos are exactly what you will get when you check in.
  
  Such attention to detail in the fixtures and fittings which made staying here and absolute dream. A lot of thought has gone in to this and the owners really do know what the guest wants.
  
  The owner was extremely friendly and accommodating and check in and out was a breeze. Very quiet location and comfortable beds.
  
  Lovely lady who cleans and makes sure everything is to our satisfaction too. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again for our next Hanoi weekend away. (we live in Vietnam). Thanks again.
